Just look for the one formulated for fruits & veggies. There is also one for flowers, [ the original is for grass], as they require different nutrients. It's really great for the tomatoes, which need as much food as the avg teenage boy, lol. :D

It's cool and overcast here this morning..not sure whether I'll put the tomatoes and peppers in or work on the rose garden...hmmmmmm

and the tomatoes won..along with jalapena peppers, banana peppers and green peppers..all watered and covered with milk jugs...just in case...they make a nice little hot house for the warmer veggies. Put down the landscape fabric, stabbed that with the big tomato cages so it wouldn't blow.

UP...radishes, yellow onions, red onions, garlic and shallots are just peeking.

Also up..the new peonies I planted earlier and the older ones, my daffodils, tiger lillies, columbine, blue geraniums, dianthus, daisies, carnations:) and the blue iris...I LOVE spring!

I planted asparagus last year and got a couple of nibbles, but this..the second year is producing more. Had enough to pick yesterday to saute with a bit of butter, lemon juice and salt and oh it was good! :)

It's raining again...still need it to dry out long enough to plant the cukes, melons, and cabbage. And I'd like to plant some walla walla onions from seed if it dries out soon enough.

So for today I'll be singing Rain, Rain GO away...and the cats will be watching the raindrops from the back of the couch. And the grass is going to turn into a jungle too...I need to MOW!:(

BUT the local feed store is having a plant sale today!!!:D

I picked up a fuschia and a gerber daisy hanging basket yesterday so my deck is getting quite colorful.

Marking this day..Friday the 13th of May...my garden is now completely planted. Put in hills for the cukes, watermelon and cantelope and planted cabbage plants.

Now on to the yard and the mowing, maintenance and watering..yippee! Taking the day off tomorrow to attend my nephew's high school graduation!:)

Going to leave the jugs on the plants for a little bit longer...this wind is ferocious on young plants. Time to trim up the yard that took five hours to mow yesterday and water.:)

I'm mad at you Juju.

I have finished the 'garden' where I keep my truck, I have finished planting 3 acres of rape seed on a 'rented' lot but I have yet to even get my backyard garden going with all these interruptions and disasters - today the dog is very sick and I have to clean up my flooded basement. I have 100 tomato, 100 lettuce, and 100 pepper seedlings ready to go out (I didn't expect them all to sprout) while Saturday after the heart walk I went to one nursery to buy manure and they had kinds of plants from a nickel to 50 cents and I bought $45 bucks worth like a dummy ... even corn ... alas I forgot to get the manure but I have yet to prep the area that I have to plant everything in.

SO I'm mad that you are getting it done and I am just sitting here looking out the window at an empty backyard. :p

So my sis brought down more horseradish and some mountain rockets this morning...just got them planted and it started raining...yippee! No watering today. Also checked the garden and a few potatoes are just breaking thru the soil. Probably would have been sooner had it been warmer and more sun, but I'm happy to see them! She also brought down a tub of really hot horseradish she'd made up so my roots can stay in the ground awhile longer...

And my hubby is on the way home to play in the garden and a few other things, so hope the rain doesn't last for a week...:)

A little update on the garden...all this rain has had a wonderful effect on the garden..the potatoes are really coming up strong and the collards and the peas are popping up now...I've had several helpings of asparagus now and had enough space to put in two more rows. Now I'm just praying for a few dry days to get in and take care of the weeds..it's still so muddy that it pulls off your shoes when you step in it!:)

Yep the rain had a good effect on my work, it washed the two gardens I had over by my dad's house and took out all my lettuce and pepper seedlings I was about to plant here, my deck garden is a big mess and my cats discovered their cat nip and cat grass trays I had to bring up from the basement.

Oh did I mention my onions are not onions any more?
