Miko: If you have the moxy to be in the truck 52 weeks, it'd only be
about 1400 miles per week. I'm sure you could stand that if you tried. But, in the 45 weeks we look at it's 1650 a week. I don't understand get'in the hands on the truck part, sorry. And yes, we do have a good maintenance...
We use heavy "D" units that are logistics equiped or specialty ie curtainside. Our "big" trucks averaged $121k in 2004. According to our fuel tax filings for all miles the average was $1.62 per mile. The key is a large customer base so you can dh across town and not the state. As Tony says "it...
Not necessarily a good thing to think only of yourself. Seems we are all in this together [o/o and company]. I have read here many times that the customer and freight is "their" (the companys) freight. Don't you people take any ownership at all for your livelyhood???? Don't you want to help...
For what it is worth. You may get by with it for a while. But, at 15-20% of what business you realized from that shipper the bill would be sizeable when the piss'in contest is finished. Recommend you go find your own customers.
RE: New 2006 International 4300 with 466 engine Be
Actually, the 466 is not a new design. It's been around IH since the 70's, starting being used in farm tractors. It is an excellent engine and well proven, economical to rebuild, and service is available almost everywhere. There are many...
They do write expediters. I'm with them now, but, am going to change this month. Their insurance is high from what i've found. I usad them for 8 years and when my re-up time came this time, I did some checking around for rates and will save about 30% elswhere.
We had the same problem until I started putting the little instruction thingie for placement of the plate in with the Authorities, permits, cab cards, etc. Just saves some time and BS
Maybe, just maybe there are some of us "others" that do flatbed expedited freight. And, you are right it never hurts to ask. Flatbedding won't work for most, because, that's just exactly what it is - work. Way more work than most want.
RE: Uh, Guys RE: White Glove
White Glove?? Ain't they the things those folks wear when they say bend over the table and say ahhhh? "Best of the best" ?? YUK, YUK.
It is a 2000 Model, 110Condo double bunk, M-11/370/Cummins w 10 sp,10-14 mpg, We stretched it, full tandem. The 30 footer is a full logistics body. No bathroom, no shower, no nutt'in you don't need
I spoke with a Wallmart driver the other day and he told me I may as well get used to being run out of more and more Wallmarts in the future, thanks to a few slobs that stay there with us that leave the area a total mess. I have even been runout of a couple Casino lots because of this.
I kind of see the problem luv is aluding to, "sending idiots to drive with me". How many times do we see the recommendation that you drive for an owner before you take the big leap. That opens the door for pandora's box you know. Interestingly, I read that same advice given on this site by an...
