    Sleeper option

There you go fleet owners. Give these folks a Tajh to camp in while on the road, and look what happens. "The roof is too low, the sleeping area is too small, yada, yada, yada". And they go away, anyway. I still maintain, if you wanna go camping, buy a Winnebago, and leave the trucking to us...

    Fleet Owner???

Actually, you had 149 problems, agendas, and other issues. As I have gone thru the gyrations of trying to find drivers ie contacting them from ads like the ones on this site, advertising, etc. I seem to be experiencing the samo, samo. Most are wannabes, have a year or two experience, or none...

    Getloaded.com

We use Load Boards frequently for LTL freight. Once in a while when I call on a load and the load has been covered, I ask what the rate might have been. The answer from these brokers, fairly frequently is, " I got some idiot to take it for pennies a mile" Not a good thing! When using any...

HOW TO GET A GOOD DRIVER WHO WANTS TO RUN

I believe I typed "we average $1.65 per mile, all miles" Didn't type anything about a company paying $1.65 per mile. That by the way is, All TAX MILES DRIVEN. You gotta think outside the box davek. And yes, I am the company

HOW TO GET A GOOD DRIVER WHO WANTS TO RUN

I'm with TMD on this one. We average $1.65 ALL miles. Most people have been disappointed by empty promises. Those empty promises are largely a result of the events that (if merely an owner leased to a carrier) cannot control. However, I find that when people get a few days living in the...

    Drivers

I've been looking in the classifieds for a driver and noticed one fella from PA looking for a ride. It appears he will drive single, and, wants some schmo to provide a minimum 100" sleeper, toilet, shower,"all the bells and whistles". Ya know I have my 110" condo, however, I started way back...

    Kudos for great service

Oh yes, I'm sure that there have been many before me. This time however, they don't have the barganing chip. Most of these repair shops have forgotten that consumers have rights, or, some of their personnel never really realized we have rights because of their ability to control the equipment...

Preparing to invest in a new truck & team. Advice

RE: Preparing to invest... but it isn't an investm Pitchman: I have read some really foolish stuff on this site. I must admit this one really takes the cake. One dash of mortgaged home, add two pinches of relatives, stir with a thousand miles of geography, bake for about three months until...

    Cargo Box

What's the worry?? I have a tandem truck that is 45 inches ground to floor and, I get along fine with it. The docks are all different anyway. If you raise the truck four inches, the first dock you come to will probably be three inches lower.

    Kudos for great service

I had an experience at the Cummins location in Indianapolis. Only, it was quite different. Took my truck in for some work including problems of the engine pulsing at road speed, and hard starting, missing and smoking bad upon cold startup. Also asked them to service it. Went on vacation and...

    here we go again

Mustang Gal: What in the world does it matter what color your collar might be??? I'm perplexed!! My collar started out whiteish and became darker by the day. Seems your husband should know that, when you pick up the truck keys, you immediately become a second class citizen. Not fair, but...

    This is too true...

Yep. I see the truck stop sign in the background. Take heed. That is what you will look like if, you hang around those nasty-assed places instead of taking in the local atmosphere.

    Where has everyone gone

WOW, been running hard the last month or so. I must have missed some things by not checking in. What is the address for the new site?

    Leasing?

C5: Remember the "Golden Rule" (Them that gots the gold, rules) You can do anything like that, as long as you don't pinch so hard they can't function. Also, I'd be real careful who's name the equipment is registered in.. The safest for the owner would be a 50/50 lease for a period of time...

    Leasing?

C5: I'm sure there are exceptions to the following. I just have not seen them. Most folks that are in a position to not be able to purchase a truck have real reasons why they cannot. Many folks have laid awake nights thinking of ways to get over. The only way to do this (possibly) is to...

Sniper: This may be a little late(the gate may already be in the shed) but, when I was starting out and leased to one of the carriers I gave them every reason possible to put freight on my truck. A lift gate is simply, another reason. If you are concerned about loosing some automotive...

    Super D

It shouldn't much matter what your carrier might designate your truck as. If in pricing your service you make it clear that any load over 10 skids or, 14,000 lbs will require the E rate be paid.
