I had an experience at the Cummins location in Indianapolis. Only, it was quite different. Took my truck in for some work including problems of the engine pulsing at road speed, and hard starting, missing and smoking bad upon cold startup. Also asked them to service it. Went on vacation and left the truck there a week. Paid them $1900 and change went out to the lot started the truck - no change missing, smoking. Went back inside to get someone to watch the start up. He says, seems to me you need a pump. Lets get it back inside and check it. Still pulsing too. Yep sure enough, needs a pump to the tune of $2900. Come to find out, the truck was not road tested. The cold start check amounted to the tech leaving my truck in his bay overnight and, checked the cold start the next morning. So, a new pump goes on. Only problem, it's not a new pump it is a rebuilt (in mexico) pump for $2900. To add insult to injury the widget they put on my old pump to cure the pulsing obviously came on the new pump. Now I have two new widgets. Should get reimbursed for the first one. Nope. The other widget put on the truck to fix the hard start wasn't needed either. Should get reimbursed. Nope. So, when the pump replacement was complete and I couldn't get together with them on the amount due, I told them to bill me and we'd work it out. I left with my truck under some very heavy protest and took it home. Next day I see the ground below the truck is green( it was the day after St.Pattys day) Yep antifreeze. So popped the hood looked around and found the bolts attaching the cooling tube to the fuel pump(what was left of them) were finger tight. So, had to find bolts and some new o rings, six gallons of antifreeze, blah, blah blah. Am I pleased with their work? Nope!!!!!
