I required my drivers to spent a couple weeks to a month on the road with me. That eliminated any misunderstandings about how things were done. It certainly shortened up the discussion process with the "experts" that figgured they didn't need some perusal.
So then, Why in the world would you discourage someone disatisfied with their current situation not to pursue a smaller Carrier?? Don't you think my system utilized the equipment I had (as an example)? Don't you think I utilized all my resources (better'n a 10 buk an hour dispatcher) to keep...
I am intimately familiar with IFTA. Seems to me the author has some issues with IFTA taxes. A bit of schooling for his drivers, or, direct them to the speel authored by Leo, may help them see the light. Bottom line tho, I certainly wouldn't screw up an owner/driver relationship over underpaid...
In the grand scheme of things, 1200 buks a year, more or less, in this business should not be a show stopper or cause undue distress for owner or driver l"if"e they are making what they should be in the first place. Granted, if they'd do the due vigilance and fuel where they should it simply...
Fuel tax is nickle and dimes anyway, unless, they are running coast to coast and fueling in Mississippi each time they pass thru. I never bothered my drivers or contractors about fuel taxes. It is not significant. If you are not making enough money to dismiss this minor issue then...
Didja ever see one o them gps thingies that will give, on the puter screen each and every move you made for any period of time asked for??
Before you type "ain;t got one" ya better check yer rig really close.
I guess i don't understand how YOU could type something like this. In my reading you seemed aprehensive about downsizing Carriers a while back. It seems, also in my reading, that you have been extremely happy with your move to a smaller Carrier. Or, am i not comprehending what I read?
You could move across the river to Louisville, or, move a bit to Parkersburg, or, move to Minneapolis, or, jes move up to Portland. Thay be lots of Albanys around. Guess it depends onwhich way ya wanna go.
Hooboy! you two still don't get it do you? I'm amazed that you still think that small carriers don't have a customer base that amounts to much. But, it depends on how much exposure the "small" carrier has had, I guess. Regardless, you maybe don't understand how much freight we see out there...
50 times? That is a bunch of times. Lemme see here, pied times, no wait is it minus? Or, plus? Anyway. I have a dog with me usually that don't shed, don't need water, no walk'in, but, barks over here, and bites wayyyy over there.

Don't be taken in by the 400 hp claims of the -400 inch diesels. 18,000 lbs would easily be managed by the 466 you mentioned. Not sure what type trailer you are using but wind resistance in many cases is as consuming as weight.
btw.....do you have any 2007+ suzuki injected 750...
Allrightie then! I guess we now know!~
Thanks for clarifying that as well as being a former van driver and cheerleader, we have some book learn'in in the mix. I'm relieved.
Spoke with a co owner last week. Tractor pulling season is about over and I'm wanting to get back in the expediting mix till bout Thanksgiving. i was advised in no uncertain terms that Daystar is "a Christian Company". So, quite prolly you are on your own on Sunday. I was also advised that...
