No Dave, I think is really has to do with the Cheer Leading syndrome or the Purple Haze syndrome, either way it is something like the Stockholm syndrome but worse.

Reeferism isn't all that bad for some of us. Some of us know how to control ourselves.

Dave or is it Linda?

Be informed ... oh that's your tag ... guess you have to be there at the beginning :p

What the f.... uss all about?
Let me get my sleep, yer as bad as the clink beeps in the middle of the night.
It is always Dave.
Linda would get us banned.............she'll. tear yer lungs out Jim
I used to be informed, now I read EO.:D

Phil just posted on here in the open forum to let everyone know that FedEx is asking Terry to check on White Glove trucks. Then you guys give him a hard time. It's Terrys Job to make sure rules are not being broken. Being with FedEx Custom Critical for fourteen years and in White Glove, I can understand why Terry is doing the checking. It takes many man hours to gain a customer and only one time to lose that same customer.

Think about it if you was the customer. White Glove deals with some loads that cost millions of dollars. The customer is the boss, they are the one paying us to move their freight. Now if you want to be in White Glove you have to play by their rules. Linda and Bob Caffee could be in White Glove with FedEx, but they choose not to be because they love their dog. Every company has rule that you make not like, it's part of the business.

Yes, at Panther you can have a dog and be in Elite. Panther and FedEx Custom Critical are to different kinds of carriers if you ask me. FedEx is more about the company brand name, Panther is more about getting the job done right and on time. As for our drivers, they are happy with Panther and we plan to grow our company more with Panther and other carriers. As for Phils post, I didn't take it as some would say as Phil was trying to toot his own horn. I took it as Phil was just trying to help other drivers out with info.

Give the guy a break sometimes.

Actually, he seemes to find great satisfaction in the work. He told us the story of how he came to get the job in the first place. As a contractor and driver's council member, he has promoted the idea for a long time.

Actually, of what other value would a van driver be as a "safety liason" when it comes to big trucks? Other than in fact as dog catcher.

I updated my value of O'Connell post to add two items. One was that O'Connell has gone to school to learn how to inspect trucks. It was an early criticism that a van driver was not qualified to inspect trucks. He does not do DOT inspections on big trucks but if he had to, he now could.

Allrightie then! I guess we now know!~

Thanks for clarifying that as well as being a former van driver and cheerleader, we have some book learn'in in the mix. I'm relieved.

Well all rightie then. Enough is enough. We know of course that this thread was soley started out of the good of someone's heart, to remind other White Glove drivers. they can't have dogs...which they already knew. Of course, perhaps it should have been Fedex forum only item, since it only affects them...but how could it be known that people from other companies, with no "dog in the fight", would jump in.

We also know, it was not intended to continue someone's personal grudge match with their company, or to question the validity, necessity, or qualifications of a position the company deemed necessary, and which has verifiably resulted in the discovery of MANY ridiculous violations ... so obvious to the eye that a DOT inspection would put them OOS.

However, since it has now drifted to a thread seemingly intent on bashing one man, perhaps it is time to put this well-intentioned thread to bed.

I would submit that if one has moved on, or is thinking of it... perhaps they could do it with class, instead of taking every opportunity to spread hearsay, innuendo, misinformation, or outright lies about said current or former company, or any employee thereof.

Locked....and done.
