The Weekend Report
It’s hard to write when the freight surges. Freight continues to move at a strong pace. I covered an area from Pennsylvania to Texas, and the rain was relentless. Every load went plowing through wave after wave of rain. No break until I arrived in Texas to trade the rain for 100 degree temperatures.
Near miss. Dern it. I almost managed to meet up with forum member Westmicher in Dallas. I haven’t met him in person, and I was looking forward to the visit with him and the westmichermobile. Westmicher sent me a private message after I left a four word message in the Load One carriers forum—Good night from Dallas. We planned to meet this morning, but he got freight instead. It explains the expediter salutation—Hope I don’t see you tomorrow. I’ll see him at the Expedite Expo at end of July instead. The small world of Expediters Online.
July shutdown. I delivered at one GM facility this week, and a dock worker said they were only getting one day off. It will be interesting to see how this translates to freight.
Cyanogen Mod 10.1.0. My phone’s rooted operating system has finally reached stable release. Until now I’ve been playing with glitchy versions under development. To help in my phone play, I finally managed to get the latest update to install from within the operating system which saved a lot of time making personal adjustments after the move.
