Round Rock Donuts

Round Rock, Texas is north of Austin just off Interstate 35. During busy hours parking is tight for even cargo vans, but it is worth a stop. This ain’t your ordinary donut shop. I made the mistake of arriving at lunch time on Saturday, but it gave me a chance to see how they handle their high volume of customers. One set of doors go in, and another set of doors go out. Everyone already knows what they want, so there is no rack of donuts to pick from (there is a small glass case with a few specialty items). Place your order from the menu board with the cashier, and the order is built in the kitchen. My order of a half dozen cream filled donuts was ready in about ten minutes.
