Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Merry Christmas and Happy New YearÂ
In my final blog of the year I would like to wish everyone reading this a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. What traditions do you enjoy during this holiday season? Let me get a little nostalgic here to tell you a few of our Christmas traditions.
As a child, Christmas Eve was always going to church to participate in the Christmas program that all the school age children put on. While we waiting in the car to go to church, mom was quickly putting presents under the tree to make it look like Santa had come while we were gone. After the Christmas program each child got a paper bag full of peanuts, fruit and candy. We would then go home and open all of our presents. Christmas Day we would go to church in the morning and then spend the day with aunts, uncles and cousins. We would play games and eat all day.
Since getting married our families joined forces to bring traditions together. We learned that both of our families used to have the same silver metal Christmas tree and the colored spot light that would spin around to change the color of the tree from green to red to yellow and blue.Â
Our traditions have changed over the years as the older generation has passed on and the younger generation is forming their own traditions. This year will be the first year that we will not be going to our friend’s house for a midnight luncheon. We are saddened by his loss.
The new year always holds such promise of happiness and success. Do you make new year’s resolutions? I have only made one that I have successfully been able to keep since the year that I made it.
We already have a vacation planned for later in the year. Other than that, we have no idea what the new year holds for us and our families. What we do know is that we are home for the holidays with family and friends enjoying old traditions and maybe starting new ones too.
This year has brought new business relationships that have turned into new friendships. We are blessed to know you all. Thank you for taking the time to read this blog. My hope is that you have found value in its content.
Wishing you millions of safe and profitable miles in the year ahead.
