Ohio has nice metro parks. Like WalMarts I have a good idea what’s there when I see a metro park on the map in Ohio. They are large and well cared for. They are a good place to park a van during the day while lunching or taking a stroll. My companion on my walks is the My Tracks app on my phone.

My Tracks is an android app by Google. It’s like Google Maps for pedestrians. Using start, pause and stop buttons like any other recorder, the app records the phone’s route on a map that appears to be Google Maps. In addition to the map position, the app can display data, like change in elevation, speed and distance traveled, and each route and it’s data can be saved for future reference.

Yesterday I only planned to walk about a mile. The stats that accompany this map show that I traveled 3.39 miles in 1:00:27 for an average of 3.36 mph.
