January Is The New Hell
As rough as January was I really can’t complain. From the sounds of it many had a rough month. I ended up with just over 5000 loaded miles and a large part of that work was during the first week and a half of the month before I took off about ten days. If I had a vehicle payment I could have made the payment and ate, so I can’t classify it as that bad. Last year my January produced just over 3000 loaded miles from the same number of loads. I took off about the same amount of time, but it was the first week that forced me into the shop for unscheduled maintenance. The best I can do with this kind of month is to use it as a reminder to operate lean, and to remember how well other weak months averaged out to something decent.
