The Trump Card...

Yep which is federal money.
$5,000 was used to investigate trump.
Guess what braggs can't block it......and I bet a judge will dismiss the suit.
See my question above about forfeiture money and federal funds.

To ask a second question, let's say, for purposes of discussion, that the federal government grants $100,000 to the Manhattan DA's office under some program or another. In that hypothetical case, it is clear federal money was given to a local entity. Oversight is therefore legitimate but only within the limits of the program under which the money was granted. The strings attached will vary from program to program.

For example, a federal grant to a police department to buy bulletproof vests for the officers does not give a congressional oversight committee the authority or grounds to investigate unfair hiring practices where the chief is hiring unqualified friends and relatives while excluding the employment opportunity to others better qualified.

More to the point, even if Bragg's office received federal money, federal oversight of that office is limited to the strings attached to that money per the program rules.

At least that's how I think it works. No expert on this, but I would think federal money alone does not give committee chair Jordan the authority or jurisdiction to oversee all aspects of the DA office.

Trump Does Not Plead the 5th This Time

Last time Trump traveled to New York to be deposed by the NY state AG, he essentially answered no questions and plead the 5th over 400 times. This time he is reported to be "eager to testify" and that he did indeed talk a lot while being deposed.

No earthshaking news came out of that deposition event but it is clear something has changed. Trump was unwilling to talk before. He is willing to talk now.

Braggs said they used $5000 dollars from forfeitures to investigate trump....it does not matter what program the money came from only that it is federal money. Which gives the judiciary oversight the power to investigate Bragg's office.

Aside from the forfeiture funds syphoned off to help investigate Trump, there is constitutional rights that all citizens have that protect against political prosecutions from local DA offices.
As professor Alan Dershowitz points out, imagine a civil rights worker in the 1960 in the the deep south being targeted for prosecution from a local DA for political purposes. There would have been oversight by the Feds examining all aspects of that prosecution.
Civil rights apply to all citizens including Trump.
Specifically, constitutional due-process and equal protection rights pursuant to Section 5 of the 14th Amendment.

I thought he would be running. The weight loss, the book. Apparently he read the tea leaves and realized he can’t win.026ACF5E-1ED3-452F-A5DB-C135F4736950.jpeg

I don't think that's the way it is, and neither does Bragg. That's why he took Jordan to court. Now we wait to see what the ruling or outcome of that action will be.

Wait, I thought it was George Soros who is funding Bragg and his case against Trump? Make up your minds.......

The 500 thousand that Soros funneled through an outfit helped Bragg get elected.
The 5 thousand was syphoned out of the asset forfeiture fund to help investigate Trump.

When does Trump get to sue the mainstream media companies for the defamation they heaped on him over a period of two years during the Russia collusion hoax? What makes the misinformation and outright lies spewed by all those networks, plus cable surrogates like CNN and MSNBC any different from the things Fox reporters said about Dominion? Maybe the Fox decision will set a legal precedent.

There is nothing stopping Trump from suing the mainstream media companies. I think he actually has done so a time or two.
