Fortunately, Trump and Trudeau have struck a deal and tariffs have been averted. Looks like this was the plan Trump had in mind.
Canada has be so far been dragging thier feet for years on border security I think this is Trumps way to get some movement on the issue. i tending to think with all we,ve done up here. i see another extension as long as Canada keeps improving... we were warned before....

So he used the threats of tariffs to manipulate both Canada and Mexico to do what he wants them to do? I mean if you are ok with that.......
as I said Canada was told years ago the beef up the border and we did nothing... Now that Trump is hunting down the illegals where do you think they will run to?.... this a good thing for us up here so your problem doesnt become our problem...

The thing is it goes both ways, Mexico is tired of all of the guns that are coming over the border from here into their country. What are we supposed to do about that?

just a shot in the dark here... but improved metal detection?... i mean border service can detect radioactivity from a blood test.. just saying
The thing is we could probably do more to stop the flow of guns south, but this is just another one of those examples of what is our problem is your problem and what is your problem is your problem.

The typical right wing MAGA moron would say well its not our problem guns are against your laws. American arrogance strikes again.

many in my province wishes gun were legal... Alberta is very blue collar and conservative .. ranchers farmers and oil workers... there are benefits and detractors on the gun issue. heck someone breaks into your home up here and you shoot them You get charged... and the criminal gets a slap on the wrist with simple a B&E...

But I will wager that the crime rates there are way lower than what they are here.

We already have plenty of laws in place against gun smuggling. Maybe the Mexican government should strengthen their own border security, especially against what THEIR CARTELS smuggle in and out of their country.
