If Republicans get control of the house and Senate expect to see biden impeached over Afghanistan and the southern border.
The southern border is reason enough to declare treason....because it involves the security of our nation.

If Biden is impeached, the effort will fail for the very same reason the efforts to impeach Trump failed. Lack of a 2/3 majority in the U.S. Senate.

If she is smart, she will bounce the matter right on out of her courtroom ... and not end up tarring herself with a stupid ruling at the very start of her judicial career that ultimately gets slapped down on appeal.

I agree. If this judge (U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon) decides to proceed with today's hearing and make a ruling on the questions at hand, and if the ruling(s) go against the DOJ, I think it's certain the DOJ will instantly appeal. In fact, I think the DOJ probably already has it's appeal drawn up in case it is needed.

I have not yet had time to carefully read the DOJ's filing and Trump's response. But I do see the DOJ argued that Cannon's court does not have jurisdiction in this matter (Donald J. Trump v. The United States). DOJ also argued that great harm will be done to national security if a special master is appointed. On those grounds, DOJ will likely appeal if the judge rules against them.

It remains to be seen if Trump would appeal a ruling that went against him. But that too would be a likely outcome. Trump often appeals court rulings, even if his appeal has no merit.

One should note that Attorney Boob is conspicuous in her absence on Team Trump's most recent legal filing.

Apparently his most recent attorney acquisition - former Florida Solicitor General Chris Kise - didn't sign onto it either.

Interesting. And it will be interesting to see who shows up in court today to argue Trump's case.

I have not yet had time to carefully read the DOJ and Trump filings in this case but I have skimmed them. Having done that, it seems to me that those who are laughing at or criticizing the low quality of the Trump filings have a point. The DOJ filings are well organized and they make strong legal points backed by citations. The Trump documents read more like press releases and bad ones at that. They ramble from one topic to another with few legal citations and few arguments a competent judge would accept.

I've held off criticizing the judge who will preside over today's hearing. I prefer to give her the benefit of the doubt. But if she does anything other than refer this matter to the proper court, my opinion of her will plunge and I would expect her to be harshly overruled on appeal.

Trump's new attorney, Chris Kise, is said to be competent and highly respected among the people who know him in Florida. Based on the filings so far, it seems Trump is in desperate of such an attorney. We'll see how long this one lasts.

Trump has had good attorneys before but all of them seem to drift away. One of his attorney's went to jail (Cohen). Two have been sanctioned (Giuliani, Powell). Two more are likely to become witnesses against Trump or targets of investigations (Bobb, Corcoran).

Some say Trump has trouble with attorney's because he does not pay them. Others say it is because Trump does not listen to them. We have no way to know if either of those are true. But we do know that Trump turns over attorneys at a rapid rate. And based on his filings in Trump v. The United States, the attorney's he has relied upon there are not serving him well.

One final point. If you have committed criminal acts and the prosecutors can prove it, it does not matter how good your attorney is. You're going to be convicted.

In 30 years of prosecuting cases, I never saw a judge make up her mind on an issue BEFORE the other party had an opportunity to respond to the request. This is dead wrong.

You often bring up Biden when I'm talking about the DOJ and Trump. In this conversation on this topic, Biden is of zero interest to me. As president, he is of little interest to me. I do not see him as a strong leader and I spend very little time thinking about him as I go through my day. In contrast, I spend too much time thinking about Trump. It troubles me deeply to see him lie all the time, dupe millions into believing in him, destroy the Republican Party, threaten democracy itself with his strongman-leader methods, and evade accountability again and again.

You seem to believe Biden is using a corrupt DOJ as a political weapon against Trump. I do not believe that. I believe it is as the White House says it is in this case. The DOJ is making the legal decisions and determining its actions regarding Trump, and Biden is staying out of it.

That is because they are in DC. 95- 5 Democrat area with a lot of Obama judges ready to rubber stamp whatever is put in front of them if it is against Trump.
