ok...simpler yet...
A suggestion I would like to make would be, I think, of great use to the vanners/sprinters/cubers/spartaners here at Load One.Along with the load information sent to us via the quallcomm, I think it would be so nice to have the freight measurements also.
I know that it is available via fleetvision, but not everyone will have their computer on at time of load dispatch, and alot of times, minutes are crucial to picking up a load ontime.
Knowing the dimensions would let us know if we have to tear down a bed:what to and what not to re-arrange:let us know if we are going to have a place to sleep, or take a nap, if it is a long run:can we double stack the freight:So that way, when we get to a shipper, we can make the proper arrangements inside our van quickly, then walk in and take care of business, without holding up the shipper. No surprises.
just a thought.
Sorry, Judy, you're wrong on this one.The last load I did, had nothing on the q-c, but it DID show up on fleetvision, dimensions, and everything.Nope...size and number of pallets are NOT always available on fleetvision. If it doesn't come through on your qualcom, it won't show up on fleetvision. Trust me...I've looked too often for Ken when he's been in that mad rush to get to a shipper.
1) I can see if email or text notification can be an on/off choice by driver.
2) Many times loads are booked and they order the vehicle and do not have the dims.
Guido...correct...sometimes the dims are on FV.... dims do not come over the QC
Go onto Fleetvision, go into vehicle management, and then go into the yellow box,(click).Ken's driving now..Where would I find that Ken? I've already been surprised 3 times

In this kind of scenerio I think the driver should be out of service. Too much can happen when separated from a vehicle.Evidently, I have overcomplicated the simple. Allow my to try again.
When we put in a macro to go out of service, we are presented with a list of numbers to choose from each one denoting the reason for going out of service.
I suggest that an option gets put in the going into service macro, that one being an in service but out of truck option.
This allows dispatch to see that you are available but account for time to get to the truck and p/u a load w/o being late.
Not everyone goes sportin around town in thier st/box/sprinter when at home after all.
So, what i am saying, as clearly as i can, is the macro is meant for when you go home but do not want to go out of service yet still want to go places when you are home.

I believe what Guido is saying that although the dimensions might show on FV, they never show on QC, and if they did, it might help.

Hey OVM: did you know that you can program your phone to pause when calling, then add another number [123 456 7890, pause, 3, pause, 3] to choose the option?
Just thought I'd throw that in, since it seems the only issue that wasn't addressed already.
