Is it possible to include in the load info, rcvg hours, or something like 24/7. I would think this info would help us better plan our trips, especially the week enders. Just my 2 cents.

Most ( not always ) of the time the phone numbers are in travel order for the shipper and receiver. If not you can usually get the number off Google.

I'll just be happy when they can figure out how to not schedule a delivery time that's 3 hours before the place opens up.

I also think that things contained in the "notes" that you sometimes see on FleetVision should be on the QC. I could have really used that information the other day. Would have made both me and the customer very happy.

LEG 2 NOTES: CUST:XXXXXX ADDR:XXXXXX-REQ 96 IN DOOR HGT RECEIVE AT DOCK F-DRIVER ID IS REQ AT CHECK IN PH:XXX-XXX-XXXX CHECK IN PH:XXX-XXX-XXXXCUST. CODE:XXXX

I could have really used that phone number. It was the cell phone number for someone inside the building who was sitting there waiting on me. I arrived at 0230 for an 0400 scheduled delivery, but shipping and receiving didn't open for "regular deliveries" until 0530. Park and wait, despite me telling the guard that it wasn't a "regular delivery". 0400 comes and goes and I call dispatch, who calls the customer.

Meantime the guy in the building with the cell phone, and the other three people who need those parts to repair a machine before first shift starts, is on the phone freaking out because it's after 0400 and I'm not there yet. Finally around 0500 dispatch calls with the information in the notes and at the same time the security guard is knocking on my door telling me I'm to be let in ASAP.

He escorts me back and I go in and deliver the load (and plastic bag, 5 pounds, of really important parts), and get yelled at because, "You were supposed to be here at four!". To my rescue, the security guard noted to the angry gentlemen, "He's been here since two thirty." To which one of the angry men inquired to the security guard, "Why didn't you call me the minute he got here?" The guard replied, "I didn't know you wanted me to call you. You should have told me." To which someone scribbled an unintelligible signature and then disappeared before I could get his name to type in on the QC.

It's not just a job, it's an adventure.

This is something that is needed. It really needs to be there for those who log for reasons that will I not say on the public forum.

Agreed. As it is now, if you shut down at 1800 for your 10 hour, it would mean getting up at 0400 to send a mac 24. Defeats the purpose of "rest"

Just add another reason to mac 23 and change reason #1.

#1 Sleep back in service in 10 hours.
#2 Sleep will send mac 24.

Right now, when you take your 10 hour, it's dead time. You lose idle hours and have to lose more time waiting for loads.
Dispatch could just pass you over if a load comes up until your break is up. If you are the only one in an area, they would know when to start looking for loads.

Agreed. I think that is sometimes the information that runs off the end of the address line in the macro. I don't think dispatch realizes we can't see all the information that they can apparently see on their screen. I've missed critical information that was hidden "off the page".

That critical information that loads sometimes have is at times found buried in the "by accepting this load" message. I think it warrants its own message (especially since us vanners don't require the "you have enough hours" msg)

Good question. I will find out about the length of message issue. I was not aware of that as no one had ever mentioned it.

Ive not been here long enough to experience any of this but I have seen it as a problem as a company driver a few years back. Scott's suggestion, if possible, is the way to go. A seperate msg with the important info will be less likely to get overlooked. Since the info IS important, it should warrant its own msg. Imno (in my newbie opinion :) )

We try have it all come over automatically. Always looking for ways to reduce the human error factor.

Dumb question: why is the 'please put me back in service' macro the only one that doesn't require the truck number?
Or better: why do the rest need it?
:p

Not sure. But I forwarded your message to Steve Briggs to look at this question.

I think the only ones that require a truck number are the scans.

Steve, if you don't put the truck number in, you can't send 'arrived' or 'loaded' or 'empty' macros, which seems weird because it identifies the truck anyhow, if I understand it.

I think what he means is when the Bldg or Suite number is at the end of an address line, it gets cut off. Sometimes, you see just enough letters to know there's more info, but not what it is.
