Yep..you are wrong sir...maybe for one who is supposedly so accurate would check on this....

It is a company policy probably for insurance reasons that carriers do this (for vans)....EVERYONE who drives is in the random rotation CDL or NOT......

And the non CDL's keep checking in...

I was talking with my brother about this and he said it could be because we deal with brokers. If we were to cause an accident the victim can come back on the shipper/broker for not finding a safe company to haul the freight. If all drivers are tested then they have proof that they made reasonable attempts to find a safe transportation company.

At the office in Toledo, and NO i didn't pay for RANDOM test.:)

When did you have yours done? I'm going to look into it but it appears they deduct it from your pay, hopefully it was a mistake the others got billed. Still crossing my fingers.

That's certainly possible ....

As well as the dunces evidently ....

Well, mebbe you yourself might wanna do a little checking .... with regard to your statement below (.... about a carrier who, as far as I know, you don't, and have never, worked for .....)

Well clearly, that doesn't appear to always be the case :D :

Interesting ....

Have either of you ever held a CDL at anytime ?

How are your driver entries in Fleet-Vision designated for the "Random Drug Test - Y/N" field ?

I've never had a CDL. "Y" on fleet vision random drug test field.

Interesting .....

Looks like it may be something that has changed then .....

In my research on this, from speaking with other (_____) van driver's, the thing that came up as being a common denominator for a van driver getting the call for randoms or not, was whether or not they held a CDL. The ones who did (hold a CDL) had been tested, the ones who didn't hadn't been .....

Perhaps it is a (relatively) recent change in policy.

Of course, testing of non-CDL drivers isn't required by the DOT:

At home in Dayton .. I was "supposed" to be back in service today, when we returned from the rv'ing, I discovered a power steering leak, (again), under my van.

Stoop's says it is the high pressure line from the pump, which I have already replaced once.

So the parts should be under warranty, but they had to order it from somewhere ....
