NJ Gov Christie to be probed.

First, there was the bridge scandal. Now comes a Federal probe as to whether Christie misused Hurricane Sandy relief funds in commercials starring himself and family. Has the political takedown of Chris Christie begun?

The attempt has begun, but I doubt anything will come of the investigation into the tourism ad. The question isn't about the ad, per se, but about the fact that the ad was produced by the second lowest bidder rather than the lowest. At the time the ad was being produced, Christie's administration noted that while it wasn't the lowest bid, is was the better value. The "better value" being an ad that featured Christie and his family right before re-eleaction, and therefore had political election value, is up for debate, and not likely something any investigation is likely to determine.

The appearance of impropriety is usually enough for the media to run with. Christie is going to be defending himself 24/7 on several fronts. Will he crack under the unrelenting pressure? The Long Knives are out for Christie.

With the MSM starting their relentless attacks THIS EARLY on a possible Presidential Candidate in 2016...........something says they may be running scared already.

What worries me is I HOPE Christie doesn't become the next Fred Thompson...........

Fred was a WELL SPOKEN.....Tough............Senator that expressed his Conservative Values BOLDLY not only During his Terms as a Senator.....but also in the TV Shows / Movies he was in. When it came to step up to the plate with that same Persona that People.......us Staunch Republicans who LOVED him and his Agenda..............He Flopped and Disappointed us. (His short run for POTUS)

Now here is Governor Christie............a STRONG Character.............who will make Harry Reid peee in his pants and cause Nancy Pelosi to Cry...........acting like a little Wimp during a 2 Hour Press Conference covering a NON-ISSUE that was generated from the Hate of a Media System that cannot stand American Conservative Values.

I couldn't handle watching Christie the other day.............I would've liked it better if he had been the Christie America LOVES............whether he was in the Right or Wrong............Know what I mean.

If Christie is caught in a lie about the bridge lane closing, he's through. It might hinge if the investigation can discover a smoking gun with his knowledge of what his aides did. Maybe someone will 'talk'. Regarding Christie strongly espousing his conservative principles like Fred Thompson;he can't. Christie is not really a conservative.

Yeah, this bridge thing is MUCH worse than Benghazi was. I can see where it would end a run for office and Benghazi would not.

Christie is just another politician, hardly "conservative".

"This bridge thing" matters, because it exposes a degree of petty vindictiveness that is childish, and a willingness to put his own personal satisfaction above the best interests of the voters. If something else had caused a traffic snarl of that magnitude at the GW bridge, I bet he would have been demanding answers - that's his job.
I liked Christie, but I don't like this kind of behavior at all.

I don't approve of what was done. I never liked Christie, or any other politician for that matter, but in Benghazi people were hung out do die, and they did. This was not of the same level.

It will be once the Clinton machine is done with it.

I am just hoping Ragman doesn't read this post. ;)

Maybe too late.

Yeah, that lousy Christie. Benghazi is nothing compared to the bridge. Hang him. Nothing else is sufficient.

What kind of behavior, exactly? Seems like, without any evidence, you've concluded that he not only knew his staff was involved in the lane closures, but that he himself orchestrated it.

What I've concluded is that whether he knew or not, his closest aides felt it was something he would approve of. There is also the matter of the other [new] mayor who declined to endorse Christie, and found all 10 meetings with Christie's top department heads [arranged by the same aide who ordered the lane closures] cancelled - 8 immediately, 2 the next day [after he declined]. That tends to lend credence to a petty vindictive style of wielding power.
