That is so sweet of her! thank you both! I miss those longer growing seasons..in South Dakota you're taking a risk if you plant before Memorial Day, but I got lucky..Ken brought home a new tiller and got the garden worked so I could plant at the end of April. I keep a close eye on the weather.com for that last freezing date. I do a bit of canning too..mostly pickles and tomatoes and dilly beans..the rest I just blanch and freeze. I bought small cabbage plants at the nearest local nursery (42miles away) and I bet she planted hers from seed. If he makes it down your way I'll make sure he's got some pickles in the truck for you! :)

Whats an emeril?

You can use veggie oil, or other oils - the flavor may be different than what you expect. I use a good table oil for the flavor. I was given a tarragon infused olive oil a while ago and used that last year and it turned out as a weird tasting mayo but rather good.

Well, like I said, I know Skeeters, but, Skitters is something completly different.

skit·ter (sktr)
v. skit·tered, skit·ter·ing, skit·ters
v.intr.
1. To move rapidly along a surface, usually with frequent light contacts or changes of direction; skip or glide quickly: lizards that skitter away when approached.
2. To fish by drawing a lure or baited hook over the surface of the water with a skipping movement.
v.tr.
To cause to skitter.

Now do you have millers down there? Hate the critters but my cats love to chase them around the house, knocking plants and lamps over and then eat them..

They're bigger than moths..but I think the same family.

My Siamese cat ate a garter snake the other day..and another one was paying with a frog..not sure if the frog got eaten or was just a toy.

Wish it'd stop raining..predicted for the next several days..enough to make the garden mucky enough to not want to get in there.

Ken had a fresh cold pepsi sitting in the cupholder in the sprinter once..he took a looooooooong cold swig and came up spluttering..miller had dived in and was part of Ken's Big Gulp!...now that was funny!

I would send it your way, but I think it's got t-storms in it for the next couple of days..with the south that'd probably turn into a tornado and the good Lord knows you don't need any more of them!
