Told em 30 hrs. Near Indy is enough...drivin home.
Dispatcher sounded surprised at that length of time empty there.
Told em I wish I could help em search.
Call me if you've got a local within 200 loaded run
For in the am outa Toledo.
Look, my mood changed!
I would head for home, but I am home for the last 4 outta 5 days with only a 160 miles run to show for the efforts.

I guess we are getting Screwwd by a Bolt!! VanDriver2, This is why you are sitting, follow along........made a pick up a ways below Indy. When I arrived there were other "unwrapped" older, sprinters. Tried to speak to one of the drivers, eastern European without English, no surprise;)........keep reading. I went in and asked shipper why he wasn't using Bolt on the other shipments since they were all going to the same place and he said - huh? They are all from our company. So I called dispatch and the dispatcher chuckled and said they didn't have other vans in the area so they sometimes use a "Partner Carrier". I asked why the Partner Carrier didn't have to have vehicles to Bolt specifications. His reply was: that it is a competitive business and they have to use who has the better rates. SO, I wonder, is Vandriver2 sitting because they can get their Partner Carriers cheaper and it costs Bolt nothing for us to sit while they support the side of the industry that is driving rates down. I think this manifestation of GREED is disgusting. However, correct me if it is a regular practice with other Expediting companies?:deadhorse:

After what happened with my carrier, see previous post, I might buy you a whole package EVERY WEEK, if you can tell me who I can work for that has a "somewhat" moral compass.:JC-hysterical:

I can tell you a bunch of them that have moral compass, but they don't add vans because they can hardly keep their current fleet moving. There is just not enough van freight for all the vans out there.

Dang, I am afraid I will get sharp objects thrown at me, but have had 3 loads for 3,250 loaded miles...consignee in San Antonio closed early today, paid $150 layover to deliver 8 am (probably would have sat til then if did deliver today anyway tbh)
Have just over a week left before going back into a semi, but to be a car hauler, seems like NOW they figure out how to get me miles, lol

Yes I did get lucky and I know it, but it makes up for July...more miles this week than 5 or 6 weeks before combined

Dispatcher sounding surprised when you tell them you have been sitting for 30 hours kinda scares me. Seems to me they ought to be looking at one more sort/report of their resources and do some proactive work on their longest sitting O/O assets. But that is just me, I always enjoyed doing my job, plus things to help my company and fellow employees.

Look - I am happy
Yep, feel the same way! Can't get inside and search for myself! They're missing out on $ if I'm sitting. They called me twice about the same load the day before!!! I can't help em out here and I can't whisper in their ear, don't forget to look at her Max weight compared to the Offered Load Weight.

I hear Ya! I can't do anything about what others are doing, only myself.
Nothing, nothing is a shock or surprise to me.
Business and Money squeak the Loudest and get the Attention.
I am nothing, just a speck.
I wrote a Curtis and Dave and let them know where ai sat, for how long and how many miles I'm driving home.
I asked them if they still need me and my Sprinter as I only had two very short runs this week and an expansive wait time in a decent area, Inianapolis.
All I can do. My hands are tied.

As I said yesterday, I am doing well with them but their business ethics, or lack of, bother me deeeeeply. I understand and accept my role as a contractor and will continue to work with them, but, with my eyes a lot more open.

Manager, Bolt isn't brokering those loads out because they want to make money off of them, they are probably a no turn down customer. Some customers require you to move every load they call you with, even If you don't have one of your trucks in the area. There are many reasons why a carrier would broker out a load to a partner carrier. The only thing that gets me mad is what got you mad; they broker out loads to trucks that do not meet their specifications. I had a friend who was not allowed to sign on with Bolt because of a felony, but when he got his own authority, they had no problem brokering loads to him. How crazy is that?

I see the loads Bolt brokers out and it isn't very many per day. Most partner carriers are only brokering out 20 or less loads per day on most days. Don't get upset by this practice. By Bolt taking every load their customer calls them on is ensuring that they have more loads for you and your truck in the future.
