Moved from Nowheresville, NY to Wheretheheckisthis, NY.
Parked next to a FedEx truck with a huge sleeper, chrome wheels, the works. Guy gets out of his truck and asks if I would give him a jump. Seems he ran his batteries down. Tsk, Tsk I think while I'm saying sure, no problem.
Got it started and while I'm closing my battery box, the guy tells me thanks, I saved his load. Picking it up in the morning.
So, I did my good deed for the day.

Waiting here at Barrett in Bentonville....seems my xcross dock truck has a rad leak and has to keep stopping and topping off...at least he is on the move...

Delivered yesterday afternoon to Normal Il as soon as I dropped I headed 90 miles up the road towards Joliet, paid off! A few hours later Frankie called with another load, I pick up at 1300 Saturday and drop Monday morning in Wixom Mi.
Not the longest load but the pay is good and it sure beats sitting..... Lol

Empty in Utica Mich. Left the house at 0400, got to the delivery at 0530 for 0600 drop...at 0630, still no one in recieving....finally found a production supervisor that unloaded me...heading back home to wait for the next load...

Twas a 5 hour wait at Barrett...1 little ole skid..I think I am doing it free as no pay info came across...
Laura...in the past and looks like it still goes on...other carriers stealing loads.....You mentioned the predispatch long before your pick up....another carrier could look up the load board history and figure who the shipper is and contact them after the fact.....so best not post predispatches till after you pick the load up..... Just a heads up...
N. bound on I35 just crossed into Iowa...1st rest area having lunch....sure nice without all that heat out there...can't wait for tonight...no AC and no Generator running...maybe even need a small blanket....210 to Alb. Lea my stop over target at one of my favourite Walmarts...

Beautiful day here for the country fair..I should have put my corn in..had some beauties and everyone else's is late..
These 4H kids are pretty handy..a group of them made plant stands by cutting and angling wood to make the round pots, and stained them..Needless to say I wanted them all!
And the ladies make the best quilts, jams and jellies. They also had a photography section and we've got some pretty talented photographers too.
Now I'm off to my 91 year old aunt's birthday party.I went up to pick up her son in Dickenson with his sister yesterday......enjoy the afternoon everyone!

Like a charm...23.8 mpg with AC on and 5 hours of idling...

some carrier or independent could have read that and called that shipper depending on where the load was listed...
Like....Oh you must not have gotten our bid something must have gone wrong....are you still wanting to move it for X amount?, we have a truck an hour away...oh you are? Great...be right there Thank you...oh don't worry about the other carrier, we'll take care of the cancel to save you the bother and thanks for your business....

I've had it happen when I was with another carrier. Guy left 15 minutes before I got there.

Thanks for the heads up OVM, never would have thought that, guess I am just a niave (spelling, sorry) person. Didn't realize that could be done. Guess you learn something new every day.
Lesson learned.
We are still sitting at the Flying J in Aurora, CO waiting on dispatch to work their magic. Would have been nice to meet our new grandson this weekend. Oh well hopefully next weekend.
A tractor trailer was driving through the parking lot here in front of us and hit a dip in the parking lot kind of hard and his trailer hit the ground pretty hard. The stands on the trailer are basically inside of it now and the trailer is resting on the tractor's fuel tanks. Both tractor and trailer are messed up pretty good. They have been hours trying to clean it up.
Guess it wasn't hooked into the tractor correctly. Not sure if could have caught that with a pretrip or not.

Up in Remus Mi. barely can get an internet signal here long enough to get this to load up and to post. Today I took Nick to a little village to get some Michigan buttermilk pie. Nowhere near as sweet as the KY version. Went to the potluck/pig roast at my dads church and enjoyed some bluegrass music. Tomorrow we have the big family reunion. Then we will be headed to Lansing so I can go to the dr on Tuesday.
Still sitting in Wheretheheckisthis, NY. Actually, near Albany.

Had a really nice day at the fair and my aunt's birthday party..Had most of the cousins and some old friends too. I wound up taking the Auntie home and helping her feed her cats before I left for home. I think turning 90 does deserve a nice celebration.
