Then when told to be there for paperwork, he thought it was going to be his first day, he was told couldn't start till had a
Dr. note to release for work. He called me and asked how do I do that. I told him where the Dr. I didn't have a phone number for him. So he drove to my mom's looked up the number and called. He was told they wouls mail the slip to him. He asked can I pick it up. Sure come and get it. He then drove it back t Dana. He took the initiative to make sure this was handled! That made us very proud. Because believe me, we as his parents don't get to see that side of him much, unless he wants something, lol. It was a great day for all of us.

That comment impressed Dana..Dana's words were, "he didn't wait for it to happen, he made it happen and went and picked it up and brought it back to me"...he said, "The kid wants to work, and that counts as much as his ability"...

So yea, be proud!!!:)

As far as my help, hey i just had the connections, knew there was a need on both ends and put them together...if Dana didn't think he could do it, he wouldn't have the job...so its all good and i am sure it will work out for all involved. My wife and older kids will be eating there on a regular basis (the toledo store is a regular haunt when i get into town, And my youngest daughter will be a hostess there after classes in the evening...so...its more of a "family deal for us all the way around and ill let you know how his cooking is too!! LOL..:D

Just when ya thought the kids weren't listening, they pull a rabbit out of their hat and impress the heck outta ya and make it all worthwhile...:D

Jenny, there are many people out there like that. Yesterday we were dropping off our load and the dock worker was doing a physical count of each box on the pallets. While he was doing that, a fellow dock worker came over to him, with me standing right there, and harassed him and basically threatened him. After the other guy left I said to the dock worker counting the freight, wow being harassed at work huh. He says yes and he literally just came out of a disciplinary meeting for the same thing.

I was told that the genlteman who told me where to dock my truck was his supervisor. When I had walked in to find out where to dock, that was what was happening.

So I went and found that supervisor and told him what I witnessed and that I felt this dock worker had just been threatened. I told him that the gentleman working on our freight handled it very well and was nonconfrontational.

These guys were in their late 20's. The supervisor went and sent the guy home and thanked me for letting him know and apologized that we witnessed that.

The guy sent home was very immature and liked starting problems from what I could see. He made comments to the supervisor that he could have sued him for sending him home and not anyone else.

Just immature people, who really have no respect for having a job at any point in their lives but especially now when jobs are so hard to come by. Hopefully they will grow up.

We have sat a lot lately. We are just so glad that this week worked out for us as it has. I personaly have a few things that I have been sweating about how I was going to handle them now I know.

Trust is the truth. I have been upset lately and forgot to Trust the Lord with my problems. I let go this week and have been much easier for Tracy to live with, then dispatch comes through and the Lord handled my problems! I forget to Trust sometimes.

It is hard when you have worries and sitting doing nothing is extremely hard on you mentally, financially and physically.

It will turn around soon, I am hoping this is a good sign of the future for us and all at Load One! May your cup runnith over with good fortune!

We have the best dispatch around, in my opinion!

We used to do weekend trips to shop there. Remember the big Steve and Barrys, and other cool stores? Now it's just depressing. Oh, and of course I'm in Taylor more than I'm at home so just shop there :p

Are there even any of them out there anymore? I think we bought one of the kids a $10 winter jacket there one year. I'm surprised social services wasn't called as I think the sleeves were filled with newspaper. :p

They started in Detroit and we were the main carrier for years till they moved their distribution center to Columbus Ohio. I can't remember exact amount but they hit us when they went bankrupt.

Sitting at a mom and pop in upstate NY. Was about ready to pack it in last night when Frankie called. Shipper had a piece of machinery that had to go to their plant here. Shutdown until the machine arrived. They had contracted with another company who sent the wrong size truck and couldn't get the right one there until this morning. Guess who was 20 miles away????:D

Saddled the horse and took off. Left PA at 2145 arrived here at 0800 on time. Found out this thing can move when it wants to.

Found this t/stop a few miles from the drop. Grabbed a bite and collapsed. Everybody's happy.:D Leg woke me up again, but it's all good. JuJu, ate TWO bananas this morning.
