    Since most non drivers do not know what HOS is might I suggest the first mention of it look like this. On July 1st, new Hours Of Service regulations (or HOS) came into effect that further restrict the time professional drivers are allowed to spend behind the wheel.

    As a team we do the short runs if they pay enough. It's all about the money. We have only done one automotive run this year. Fueling is an on duty activity. The 30 minute break is a off duty or sleeper berth activity.

    I wouldn't plan on hauling any HAZMAT in a box that had a sleeper inside of it. Especially one attached to the cab by a boot. Poisonous gases have a way of killing people in a set up like that.

    We will have 168 hours or more from our last restart but only 6 days since coming back on duty. Checking our EBOR it shows that we restarted on Monday July 1st.

    I like it but it will never happen. 98 hours on duty a week. 77 hours driving a week. Way too many hours for the safety advocates.
