    Two Computers One truck dilemma

I do not want to get rid of my Sprint card so I need to find something that will work with it. The little of have seen of the I-Pad looks as if it will work well and then maybe I can just keep my Blackberry and quit drooling over the Droid. I will check on the mifi when at home. What...

    Two Computers One truck dilemma

Bob had finally decided he would like to have his own access to the web. This is all new territory for me and I would like and ideas you can help me with to make this all work. Bob only wants to be able to research using the web and also to receive email. He has no desire to work on...

The 10K sounds like a great idea. Maybe instead of a golf game the day before we need to have a 1/2 marathon or a full marathon?

    Brake techs and DOT

Did I mention anywhere that FedEx told us about Canada? Hard to imagine but we talk to and listen to other drivers who are not leased to FCC.

Today I learned fat people sweat

Permanent lifestyle change means eating smarter. Just counting calories is not healthy and we could not sustain that lifestyle. Lifestyle change means making better choices not getting fries but fresh fruit. Not going for the bacon cheeseburger but getting a leaner cut of meat. Making...

Today I learned fat people sweat

We are also on a quest to lose weight but a diet is not the answer for us as we knew we had to make a permanent life style change. I cleaned the truck out of snacks such as chips, cookies, and no more candy. Then came exercise which is a goal everyday but not met everyday. There are times we...

    Brake techs and DOT

Layout FCC requires one inspection a year to be done at a qualified shop at this time. The reason is we have been told is that Canada will not accept an inspection done by a DOT officer.

The workshops let you listen to vendors and drivers who you can then look up after wards to ask more questions of or if you just talk to them as someone you would like to get to know. There are all kinds of workshops this year and vendors so it will be a very busy day and in the evening time to...

I like the time perfect! I did spell it right also. I hope we have lots of people join us for our walk. Even though I am sure the BBQ's will not be fattening it will be fun to walk and chat! We all I am sure have a lot to catch up on at least I have never seen any of us at a loss for words.

Expedite Expo Register for the Expedite Expo

Gotta Go that is what I am thinking why break tradition this year? The end of the Expo BBQ is the best. I was thinking about trying to make the walk in the morning a formal event but I think we will all have more fun if we just meet at the entrance and all who show up are welcome to walk. The...

Expedite Expo Register for the Expedite Expo

When you registered you are registered for both days. Friday there seems to be less strollers and it is easier to get around and see all the booths. If you can I would suggest attending both days. Often after the first day you think of things you should have done or questions you should have...

    Speedco - Vehicle Inspection

Leo, I would verify with FCC before I wasted my money at a Speedco on a DOT. Speedco will charge you for the work and then FCC might not accept it. Layout, send in your maintenance report with your DOT inspection so that you can use that as one of your inspections. It is my understanding...

    I remember when..........

We were just laughing today when we mailed in our TripPak at how skinny the envelope is now that we do not have log sheets. These skinny envelopes are just happening so they still feel funny to us. Now to get to the point where we can fax the BOL's from within our trucks and not have to...

    Speedco - Vehicle Inspection

Since we put on the OPS1 oil bi-pass filter we very seldom go to the SpeedCo. They also quit selling Michelin tires so we have even less reason to go there. I agree that the place is always clean and they always have done a good job for us and the price is right.

    First Post, introduction

Wow is it great to see you here! You two were such an inspiration to us when we met up you while we were still in orientation. We have never forgot the time you took to sit with us and explain the ins and the outs of what expediting was and what we needed to do to be successful in our...

    Independent contractor no more?

This has to be hitting these guys like a hammer. I wonder if down the road this kind of thing will affect all of us independent contractors. OOIDA’s Land line: FedEx tells independent contractors to make business change or leave Nearly 12,000 independent contractors for FedEx Ground...

    Fed dropping its standards?

Thanks Greg we have decided to step up our self expectations. We are running our business and our business continues to do well. We have also noticed an increase in how many business owners that drive a truck are starting to look around and realize what kind of standard we are setting. We...

Lock out feature on new QC

Dave is aware of the mis-communication and I hope will clarify this in the next weekly email. I think from the comments we have heard is that some drivers just skimmed through the email and also thought it applied to the old QC.
