Hello NTHEWIND,
Our records indicate that you have never posted to our site before! Why not make your first post today by saying hello to our community in our Introductions forum.

Why not start with your first post today and become an active part of Expediters Online now!

Every once in a while I've popped in here just to read what everybody has to say. I went ahead and registered to post.

Just for a quick introduction I bought my first truck in 1976 from North American Van Lines. At the time they had a training/lease purchase deal. That's how I got into Trucking.
From 1976 to 1979 I moved household goods for NA. I meet my wife at a NA agent in Sioux Falls, SD. We got married, moved to Tennessee and started a NA agent for the owners in Memphis.
Left that in 1984 and bought a truck that my good friend Mike Lee traded in (Mike has since pass a way) and started hauling electronics for NA.
Left NA after only 2 years, (man they were the worst of times and the worst company)
Went to work for a United Agent hauling the same freight as NA, but paid much better.
Left United after 10 years and leased on with Roberts Express
1996.
Our history with them has been Express (what they called it back then) E unit for 1 year, W/G after that. Bought a refer trailer 2002.
My trucks have been:
1973 Chevrolet Titan 90 (bought used)
1980 KW Cab over (bought used)
1985 KW Cab over (bought new, ordered)
1988 Peterbilt 377 (bought new, ordered)
1994 Peterbilt 377 (bought new, ordered)
2000 Volvo 770 (bought new, ordered)
2006 Volvo 780 (bought new, ordered)
2008 KW 660 with 132" ARI sleeper (bought new, off lot)

All and all trucking has been very good to my wife and I, we have no regrets at all.
Trucking for me has always been something to do to make all the 'other' things in my life possible. Too long to explain that here!!!

Trucking has changed more in the last few years than in my first 20 years.

Wow is it great to see you here! You two were such an inspiration to us when we met up you while we were still in orientation. We have never forgot the time you took to sit with us and explain the ins and the outs of what expediting was and what we needed to do to be successful in our adventure. We always look forward to seeing you guys out on the road as you are still an inspiration to us.

I can only wish that any new person just getting into expediting can find people like you guys who will take the time to sit and answer a million questions.

Glad you are here!

Linda:

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm sure that the two of you have helped way more people than us. It is refreshing to see your optimism.

We're in Sacramento for the long holiday weekend. We rented a car and are going to play tourist for a couple of days.

Later,
