We will be meeting at 8 a.m. in front of the west wing and walking 1.5 miles following Bob Perry, The Trucker Trainer.   April 2nd first thing in the morning Bob will have a warm up stretching session.

Last year we had over 100 people register and attend the walk.   The temperature was in the 30’s and we had to walk fast to stay warm.   This year the show is a week later and we have requested “Warm” weather! We stopped by the TA Booth on the way back and picked up a freshly brewed cup of coffee which helped to warm our hands and insides.

We met some really interesting people on the walk last year and I believe many people figured out walking a 1.5 miles can be an easy accomplishment.   The walk took about ½ hour, which we can fit into most of our busy days.

The 61+ MATS Health Awareness Walk is a fun, non-competitive 1.5 mile course for anyone in the trucking industry who is thinking about getting fit, wanting to stay healthy or looking for tips to enhance their workouts.

The 61+ in the name of the walk represent the median age a trucker driver lives.   We want to see that age change for the better by bring awareness to our health.

If you cannot attend MATS register for the walk and be a “Ghost” walker!   This means walk on the same day and if possible walk at the same time to show your support.

You can post that you were a ghost walker on our Facebook page created for the event:
