Time Management
Summer is a busy time not only for freight, but truck shows as well. We have been running hard which is good for our business, which is our main priority. Life though keeps rolling on and we have other things we are involved with that continue.
We are rapidly approaching the Expedite Expo and we have a lot of plans there. We will once again be involved with workshops. The Drivers Round Table workshop is a lot of fun and one where no knows what will be discussed. Ellen Voie, CEO/President of Women in Trucking will be hosting a workshop that I will be involved with. There are also a lot of other good workshops and one I really enjoyed that I attended last year was the workshop by Doug Morris, First Responder class open to anyone.
I have also been working on hosting our second Pajama Walk to be held both days at the Expedite Expo. This year we have a bonus as Bob Perry, The Trucker Trainer will be leading us in a warm up as well as lead us around the parking lot. I encourage everyone to attend the walk and to get to know Bob Perry. Bob is familiar with trucking and he understands the challenges we go through to stay healthy and our struggles with nutrition. Bob will also have a booth at the Expo this year.
We have also started work on GATS this year as we will be have a blood drive as well as a walk. The blood drive will be held Friday and Saturday inside and I believe will be held in the Health Pavilion. Our organization, The Trucking Solutions Group, had great success at the truck show in Louisville and we hope to do even better at GATS with the event being held two days. The GATS Driver Health Walk will be held on Saturday morning inside and will be 1.5 miles.
All of these events take planning and time to get organized as well as advertised. We feel as if these activities are worth the time and effort it takes to keep them moving forward. Sometimes it is a little overwhelming juggling our business and the extra curricular activities but in the end it all gets done.
I hope to see everyone at the Expo as well as GATS.
