It's a Team's Life
Thursday February 19th 2015 Knoxville TN
Over ten years ago Bob and I attended our first workshop and Terry O'Connell was teaching basically the same class "Expediting 101".
Terry and his wife Rene' were expediters for over 18 years and he knows this business inside and out. Terry will discuss what is Expediting? Should you jump into expediting as an owner or drive for a fleet owner? What a company or fleet owner will expect from you and what you can expect from them.
Josh Swindoll will discuss purchasing a truck and if the time is right to purchase a truck. He will tell you what to look for in a vehicle and if it is right for your expectations.
Bob and I will discuss "Life as an Expediter" and a little about what you can expect once you have entered the industry. We will show what a typical day can look like from the wonderful rainbows to the snow covered parking lots. We will also talk about Freightliners "Team Run Smart" program that we are a part of and how that can help you to better your trucking business.
We will end the evening with a panel discussion and this is where after listening to all of us you will get to ask more questions.
The workshops are geared to help you make a decision if this is the right business for you. There will be plenty of time to talk to all of the recruiters that will be in attendance from the various expedite companies.
My suggestion is to bring a small notebook and take a lot of notes. As you listen to the speakers or talk to the recruiters write down the comments. Get names and business cards so you can call them back for clarification on a comment. Compare your notes from company to company to see which company will fit you best.
For those of you that are in the area early stop by the hotel to visit with Don Van de Laar to ask questions about Landstar or if you are all ready with Landstar to learn more. You can give him a call on his cell phone to meet up with him: 904 248 8446.
Bob and I will also be there early and we would enjoy meeting with you and answering your questions.
See you there and remember:
Expediting isn't just trucking, it's a lifestyle;

Expediting isn't just a lifestyle, it's an adventure;

Expediting isn't just an adventure, it's a job;

Expediting isn't just a job, it's a business.
