So many books so little time

Reading is one of the great side bonuses of being a driver.   We have hours every day to listen to books, we can become better educated or get caught up in a thriller and before I know it my driving shift is over!

Reading has become a sophisticated endeavor, as no longer is the only choice to pickup a book and read it from cover to cover.   No longer is it necessary to lug around a huge book as the book can tuck away neatly in a smart phone.

I have found I need never be without a book to read as I now have the Kindle app on my I-Phone and I keep a book downloaded there in case of an emergency.   I also use the I-Pod on my phone to listen to my books.

I like using the phone when listening to the stories on my headset, if a call comes in with one touch of a button I can answer my phone and have my book put on hold.   The headsets take a beating as it is almost always in constant use and the lifespan in usually no longer then a year.

I have found since I have the time to get through a copious amount of books I can indulge in many interesting topics.   I have been able to listen to many of the classics as well as educational books.   I also enjoy books about people or a company’s philosophy.

The biggest problem I have is if the readers voice is not interesting, no matter how interesting the book is the reader will put me to sleep.   I have learned to listen to a snippet of the book to make sure I like the reader.

For those of you who enjoy a good book check out the many ways available to us to stay better educated as well an entertained while driving.
