This has to be one of the prettiest rest areas in the United States.  We pulled in and I was immediately drawn to the view and the rock formations.  Luckily it was a little chilly and I knew the snakes would not care for the rocks so I was not worried about them.  I normally avoid rocks in the desert because of sunning snakes.

As I jumped out of the truck I grabbed my camera as the mountain behind the truck presented a very pretty picture.  I snapped a few shots of the truck and then I crossed out onto the rocks to look out over the valley.

I believe we were at the Sand Table Viewing area which is known for the extraordinary rock formations and color.  We usually travel this area at night and had no clue we were missing this beautiful place.
