D8000 Fort Wayne Indiana

We have a busy week this week and everything is happening at once as it often does.   We drove our pickup to Fort Wayne loaded to the gills with our interior supplies.   We left early so that I would have time to work on the truck in the evening getting our personal belongings put away.   This will help out a bunch so that when we do finally get the truck home Bob will be able to work on it without me climbing in and out.   The Cascadia has a few more appointments before hitting the road.   After we and several other people learn about the generator we are heading down to North Vernon, IN to On Spot.

We have looked at automatic chains before for our old truck and the engineers were not able to install them.   The arm to throw the chains could not get around the lift axle brackets and so we were not able to have the chains.   Danny from On Spot remembered the problems five years later when we approached their booth about getting chains on the new truck.   The wide base singles on the Cascadia present a new problem and the engineers will once again have to see if they can get the chains to work.

After we leave On Spot the truck has to go to Craftsman of Saint Louis.   We have worked with Craftsman many times over the years and appreciate their attention to detail.   The shop will be adding our toolboxes as well as our placard holders.   Bob has a plan that will make the placards removable when we are not under a placarded load.   This will have a couple benefits, one being less drag on the truck as the sides will be smooth, and the other being the box will look cleaner.

When we finally get the Cascadia home Bob has a lot to add.   We have cameras, XM, GPS, Wheel Covers, Air Pressure sensors, as well as our EZ Pass and Pre Pass to be mounted on the truck.    Bob will also be applying an epoxy coating to the floor of the box to protect and seal the wood.   We plan to be back in service on the 27th of April ready to run hard.
