Mid America Truck Show

 

Hard to believe it is all ready time to make plans to attend the Mid America Truck Show.   This is the biggest show of the year and this will be our seventh year of attending.   Each year we do more, see more, and interact more with the other attendees.

First pre register for the show Mats Registration  no matter what.   It is much easier to pre register for the show then trying to register at the show.   I would suggest registering for the show even if you do not think you will be attending the show as I believe tickets at the show are $10.00.

Another event that I always pre register for is the Women in Trucking; Salute to Women behind the Wheel.   I always register Bob and myself for the event at this site:  There is no cost associated with this event and we always have fun.   Several chocolate fountains are one of the main attractions as well as the speakers.   This will be my first time attending the event as a board member and that will be a neat experience that I am looking forward to.

The Trucking Solutions Group has been hard at work planning the Annual MATS Health Awareness Walk as well a blood drive with The American Red Cross.   This will be our third year orchestrating the walk and our second year sponsoring the blood drive.   This year we are working on some new exciting changes for the walk.

We also look forward each year to the fun we have in the Papa Johns Parking lot where many trucks park for free.   We can either walk over to the truck show or take the shuttles that run every twenty minutes back and forth to the show.   Several of us stake down a corner in the parking lot and enjoy several meals together and catching up with each other’s lives.   This is probably one of the main reasons we attend the truck show, we have made new friends each year as well as renewed acquaintances that we only see once a year.
