When we were in a position where we had to park the Cascadia and were not able to stay with the truck while in Port Hadlock, WA. With the help of FedEx Custom Critical we started looking for a hotel/motel.   We found out we were in the area during a festival and the hotels were mostly sold out or were much above what we wanted to pay.

I THOUGHT I was reduced to staying at the Hadlock Motel and was I ever wrong.   I called the hotel and found they had rooms that were in our price range.   Then the surprises kept happening the more the desk clerk talked.

When she found out we were truckers the price of the room dropped 10%, next she said call when you arrive and we will come pick you up.   That was followed up by we have a car available for you during your stay so you can go see the sites.   Then came yes we have free Wi-Fi and no smoking rooms.

We originally thought we would arrive late on Saturday evening and then realized it would be much earlier Saturday morning.   I called the hotel to ask what the earliest would be that we could check in.   She again said just call when you get here as of right now your room is available to you.   I explained that we would be arriving before nine in the morning and we did not want to pay for another night.   She again said NO PROBLEM call when you arrive and we will come pick you up.

They were true to their word I called and within five minutes our ride was waiting for us.   I told her we would be leaving very very early on Monday morning and she said just take the car and leave the car keys in the secret place and we will pick it up later in the day.   We paid for our room and were given a REAL key and went down to the room still a little concerned. While the hotel is not the Ritz it is clean, smells good, and has a small refrigerator and microwave.

We borrowed the car and were able to get our laundry done and attend a couple farmers markets.   We also took the car down to Port Townsend to attend the annual Rhododendron Festival and walk around the down town establishments.   We found a great wood working shop and purchased an amazing new Cribbage board for our house along with another carving by a 90 year old women.

While the Hadlock motel was not our first choice the motel will be our first choice whenever we are again in the area.   There customer service is above and beyond anything we have seen in a hotel and due to them we had a great weekend.
