It's a Team's Life
Government Shutdown
As the government shut down continues and I look around at what at the government has its hand in I ask myself "Why?"
First I see that the President is still receiving his paycheck of $400,000 a year and the House and Senate will still be receiving their paychecks. The debt ceiling still continues to rise and pretty soon like a credit card the max will be reached of $16.699 Trillion DOLLARS and the debt ceiling will be raised once again. When will this insanity stop?
The nonessential personnel have been furloughed and now the essential work is not being completed.
I was amazed though at how fast the "non essential" workers became "essential" when their not essential work was needed at the military bases.
I have read reports on people from other countries upset because a national attraction is not open. I am not really worried what people think from other countries. Why not privatize many of these places? The arch in Saint Louis does not need to be run by the government at a loss.
I saw an article where Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is
defying the directive and keeping over their state parks that receive most of
their funding from the state.
Senator
John McCain and Jeff Flake cannot understand why the Grand Canyon cannot stay
open if they use state money to keep the parks open.
My thoughts are why not use the money that
people pay at the parks to keep the parks open?
How long can everything be operated at a loss before we finally grind to
a halt?
When I think of the "Affordable Care Act" and realize how we struggle now to meet our premiums I wonder who is going to be able "Afford" next year when they double or triple?
This is over simplified but at the same time I believe it is time to step back and ask the question "Why are we continuing to do what does not work?"
