Most of our loads are offered in the afternoon as this is when businesses figure out that they have an emergency and do not have the supplies they need for the next day.   This means the call goes out for help early afternoon for a morning delivery.   We find ourselves driving most often driving way into the night or through the night.   As a team this is not a problem, but for a solo this can be really tough.   This works out great for Bob and I as he is a night owl and I am an early bird.   A solo learns to sleep in as late as possible so they can drive through the night.

Trying to get these guys out of bed early in the morning is a challenge as it really disrupts their sleep patterns.    I have helped put together two walks this year at truck shows, one at MATS, and one at GWTS and the common complaint has been, “Linda, I am going to come in my PJ’s and walk!”.   The Expedite Expo is a smaller show which makes it very nice.   The convention center, parking, and restaurant are all located together which gives us great flexibility on options on where to walk.   It will be very easy to walk in our PJ’s then go back to the truck, change, and then all go have breakfast and be to attend the show when it opens.

We will be able to walk around the rather large parking lot and we can circle as many times as we like.   Time and distance seems to fly by when we are all chatting and laughing with each other.   I am looking forward to meeting many new people and also catching up with old friends.

Expo 2010 ready are not here we come!
