And you didn't get tased? They didn't yell, "PASS THE GRAVY, MAGGOT?"
Then you did have something for which to be thankful--that they didn't act like typical cops, like the cop in the OP did.

Wow...gay cops must make your chest hurt....

Blind hatred of cops is just as stupid as blind love of cops. Sooner or later, if you run into enough cops you'll have a problem. But, AMonger is over the top, no two ways about it. I expect he has trouble each and every time he encounters a cop because his attitude goes before him. It's kinda hard to miss it.

In my 62 years I've never had a bad encounter with a cop...all my speeding tickets I deserved, my rolling stops, my illegal rights on a red....all deserved...I broke the law....the officers were always professional at all times....

I don't think I've ever had a problem with a cop, ever. I dealt with them all the time when I was a guard in the housing projects. I've gotten very few tickets in my life, and only one was close to questionable, and all the others were deserved and I paid them. The last one, I posted about here on EO, titled something like GETTING JACKED UP BY COPS IN IOWA. I was prepared to tell him I don't consent to a search, all that stuff, but he caught me off guard by being pleasant. Before I knew it, the stop was over and I didn't get an opportunity to be rude to him. Come to think about it, there was a cop in Ohio who was a bit of a ****wad, but that's not unusual for the Suckeye State, and I just got a warning anyway.

No, my disdain for cops isn't personal, not based on any interactions with them. It's based on their militarization, excessive force, misuse of tasers, willingness to follow illegal orders, and general disdain for the Bill of Rights. If they didn't do those things, we could go back to the days when I admired cops and had the local PBA as a beneficiary of my life insurance policy.

Same with me, but you don't seem to mind all the things that happen to other people, the guys like Harless in Ohio, Salvatore Rivieri in Baltimore, the cop in Washington who got away with executing a drunk in cold blood in a bar parking lot, or the cop in NM who tased a 10-year-old child after he said he wouldn't wash the police cruiser, or the one in Florida who tased the elderly woman over a pen, or the ones in Rottenchester who arrested the woman for filming them from her own property, or the ones who went door to door confiscating firearms after Hurricane Katrina. Most of those cops faced no consequences for their actions. That's an awful lot of people who have had bad encounters with cops, and it's just about 1/1000th of 1%, off the top of my head. Is it ok if it happens to someone else?

Bet you WONT hate them when something goes wrong. ...its okay to be against policies but the cops YOU hate are just following orders...and doing there JOB.. if your up to nothing...whats the problem??.

Ah, yes, the "I vas chust following ze ordnung" excuse. Doesn't fly. Some German guys tried it in the past and they were told "Sorry, Charlie, or Hans...doesn't work that way.
I make out a point to avoid calling the cops. If a burglar kicks my door down, I'm likely in less danger from him than some roided out G.I. Joe wanna-be. If I do ever have to call the cops, I'll expect them to do their job and obey the law, especially the Supreme Law of the Land. And if they want to play G.I. Joe, they can do what Sgt. Shalimar said and join the Marines and go to Afghanistan.

Nothing is blind. There is always a reason.

You are reading the rants of hatred and making a simple judgement at a surface level; however, a deeper look may give a surprising answer.
Looking from a psychological viewpoint these rants and hatred mirror the exact same misunderstood behavior that extreme homophobes have used to combat their attraction to the same sex. Over the top hatred for an entire group of people.

It is not too far fetched to reason that he actually has a deep attraction for police officers and may have been rebuffed at some point. Choosing unusual terms like "badge lickers" indicates that he visualizes people turning their support for good officers into an unnatural physical display of love. When someone goes to extraordinary lengths to justify their distain of a certain group there is often a host of deep seeded reasons that even they are unaware of.

There are some mental images which once seen, cannot be unseen. I don't think I'll thank you for that.

Fri Morn. 4:00 A.M. I-80 8 miles from my exit I see blue flashing lights in my mirror looked at my speedometer I was going 58 mph in A 70 so I wasnt speeding. I pulled over he opened the passenger door and said as I was following you I saw 1 whole tire pass over the white line on the right are you tired? I said no sir I woke up at 1:30 A.M. but when I hit that hole back tjere my soda fell over so I reached down to pick it up and thats when I crossed the line im very sorry sir. He asked for drivers lic and registration and went back to his car. He came back with a ticket for crossing the line He stated we take this very seriously here in oh if A trooper would have been outside his car there YOU would have killed him. I didnt bother to tellhim that if a trooper would have been there I would have changed lanes and left the soda on the floor. So much for A clean MVR no matter how hard you try to be legal they will try to get you for something. I believe this was 1 troopers personal attack against truck drivers. I think he was A big fan of Barney Fife on Mayberry RFD. Naw cops aint bad. (Sarcasm)

The thing is, they're supposed to be peace officers, not revenue generators. Not thugs of the establishment. No wonder people view the badge with apathy or outright disdain.

And when I say revenue generators, I mean by ticketing someone for doing 5 over, after they hide behind a building to purloin such fundage from the perpetrator's pocketbook. If they catch someone who is obviously putting others in danger, then that is a cop's job.

Keep the peace, officer; and stop trying to entrap John Q. Public.

Do you think he is seeking counseling and a EO group hug? ;)

Yes, there is always a reason, and I've stated it clearly and repeatedly: the militarization of police and their desire to be more like GI Joe than Andy Taylor. If cops were like they were years ago, I'd think about them differently.

Homophobia does not exist. It's just a means to paint those opposed to perversion for moral reasons as the perverts. It's the same as an alcoholic's "I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM; YOU'RE THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM!"
