The Trump Card...

Yet no Republican district attorney has gone after trump.....its ALL Democrat district attorneys....that's persecution. Each charge is very vague in wording to make it harder to defend against. Also they are leaving out key information like trump saying "peacefully protest"
Political persecution is the systemized effort by the Democrat party to attack the leading opposition candidate with multiple coordinated prosecutions timed to prevent him from running for his party's nomination. Their calculation is backfiring however, as Trump’s popularity seems to gain strength by the day as more people see these sham indictments for what they are - a naked effort at election interference by a corrupt, desperate group of radical socialists.

Speaking of election interference, the Democrats are going all in with their desperate efforts to protect their feeble, corrupt candidate from scrutiny and make the 2024 election all about Trump. Thirty-eight House Democrats sent a letter to the Judicial Conference requesting that the upcoming Trump trials be televised in the name of transparency among other things.

This would take place right in the middle of campaign season, dominating the news, eclipsing the primaries and obscuring all the Biden family scandals and his pitiful record in office. Hopefully the Conference will respond to Adam Schiff and his cronies with a hard "NO".

"With some exceptions, federal courts do not allow cameras. But if the Trump trial were to be televised, it could be the most powerful election interference operation the Democrats could ever dream up. It would perhaps far outstrip Hillary Clinton’s ploy to influence the 2016 White House race by fabricating a conspiracy between Trump and the Russians to steal that election."

Trump to Seek Change of Venue and Judge Recusal

If it's fair for Trump to ask Judge Chutkan to recuse herself from the election interference trial, and for that trial to be moved to another venue, is it also fair for DOJ to ask Judge Cannon to recuse herself from the classified documents trial, and for that trial to be also moved?

Maybe the solution is to move the election interference trial to Cannon's court and the classified documents trial to Chutkan's court.

Would You Hire This Job Applicant?

Say you are an employer. You own a company. It could be large or small. And you run a help wanted ad to fill a mid-level position, or an upper level position, or even a laborer position. As is customary these days when you hire someone new, you look at the person's social media accounts to see how they behave in public. And you see one of your applicants talks like this:

"I wasn’t “scared.” Nevertheless, how mean a thing to say! She is a Wicked Witch whose husbands journey from hell starts and finishes with her. She is a sick & demented psycho who will someday live in HELL!"

"Deranged Jack Smith ... he looks like a crackhead to me."

"He's delusional, and now he wants to show he's a tough guy. I once read a major magazine article on Mike. It said he was not a very good person. I was surprised, but the article was right. Sad!"

Real world, what you conclude about such an applicant? If it was me, I'd think this person is fundamentally disturbed at some level. There is something wrong with him and I would not want him anywhere near an organization or people I cared about.

Nobody who considers themselves decent and honorable would tolerate talk like that by their children, spouse, employees, clergy, teachers, or anyone else. Yet Trump's MAGA people feed off this adolescent drivel as if it was gospel. I'm tired of Trump's childish rants, and I hope America soon grows tired of it too. Trump's adolescent rants do NOTHING to Make America Great Again.

Ever go on “social media”? There is an army of people with nasty and rude comments about Trump and his supporters. I’m assuming many of them are employees, spouses, etc. Just engine search Ashli Babbitt on Twitter. it’s becoming the norm to say the most vile things, anonymously.

Does that make it right? Does that make it helpful? Does that help make America great again? Does that help people bring their best selves into the political discussions they enter?

Most of it is coming from the Left, too.
Most of Trump’s comments and insults are in response to similar words said about him.
Same question: Does that make it right? Does that make it helpful? Does that help make America great again? Does that help people bring their best selves into the political discussions they enter?

Trump's Big Lie is Losing Strength

When Ron DeSantis says it, you know it must be true, right?

It might be helpful for the Left to not use the 1930/ 40’s reference The Big Lie. But I’m sure they’ll “rationalize”’to themselves that it is helpful.

Regarding Cannon's Grand Jury Questions

Attorney Andrew Weissmann says, on Twitter: "Why Cannon latest order is so off base: 1512 (i) permits an obstruction case to be brought where the crime, OR the intended effect on the investigation, occurred. And a grand jury may investigate if there is simply a good faith basis for either in the grand jury's district."

Lawyers are coming down on both sides on this. Nothing more for us to do than sit back and see how this turns out. My guess is the same lawyers who said Cannon was right on the special master ruling (she was wrong) will say she is right on this order. My preference is to follow the lead of the lawyers who accurately analyze the situation and predict the results.

With the fourth indictment expected soon, there will be dozens, if not hundreds of motions or orders like this in the next few years. We can expect to see a few every week.

Get used to the new normal. And get used to the fact that the 2024 election will be overshadowed by Trump's trials. However the motions, orders and trials play out, 2024 has become and will continue to be a referendum on criminal defendant Trump. The press loves this. Policy issues and other candidates are getting very little air time. In the spotlight, it's all Trump all the time.
