It Seems Guiliani Has Flipped on Trump

I'll reiterate. The fact that Rudy entered into a proffer agreement is HUGE. This voluntary and legally significant move is a major behavior change for him. Giuliani's trajectory has changed, which will impact the trajectory of all others involved in Big Lie and Jan 6-related activities.

Trump received a target letter from DOJ on Sunday. Guiliani has not received a target letter.

And what happens when Rudy Giuliani doesn't give them the hard enough evidence to "get" trump.......will they try to renege on the deal?

It appears Giuliani gave DOJ the hard evidence they sought. Trump has received a target letter. Giuliani has not, and he does not expect to be charged. We can safely assume the deal he and the DOJ entered into stands. Rudy gave it all up and by doing so, avoided being charged.

Yes, and today, DeSantis missed a golden opportunity to capitalize on that fact. When asked for his reaction to Trump's target letter, DeSantis offered comments that resonated with few and inspired none. Instead he could have stood up and said, "I'm getting tired of Trump's endless legal challenges and perpetual whining. Trump has become a depressing sideshow that detracts from the urgent needs of the country." I'm not going to talk about Donald Trump any more. Keeping the focus on him is like trying to enjoy a picnic in the rain. In my campaign, the sun shines bright and the day is glorious. The way to make America Great Again is to focus on what's great, not on what's gone."

Such a statement would resonate with millions of Republicans who are also tired of Trump. But DeSantis is unwilling to speak so bold. He's trying to stay safe in the shadows instead.

We've moved beyond "most likely." Now it is certain.

The trial will begin before the election. After hearing the arguments of both sides today, Judge Cannon has issued an order for the trial to begin August 14. (Source). Amazingly, that's four months sooner than what DOJ was asking for and way sooner than the post-election trial Trump was asking for.

I still don't trust Judge Cannon. But I must say I'm liking her ruling today.

With the Jan 6 indictment looming, and that case to be heard in DC, and now with Florida Judge Cannon's "rocket docket" ruling, there is ZERO chance that Trump will be able to put off or delay these federal criminal trials until after the election.

While it is likely the documents-trial date will change as a result of motions and developments, Trump can abandon forever the hope that he'll somehow delay this trial until after the election. Having a Trump-nominated Judge in a ruby red district has not helped Trump so far. It seems he'll have to rely on the facts and the law to make his case, and in that regard, his case is weak.

You keep coming back to that unrelated electors case. At some point you'll realize it does not apply. What happened then is different than the crimes the fake electors committed for Trump. Note that not all alternate electors for Trump are being charged. Some truly declared themselves to be alternates in the actions they took and documents they produced. Others perpetrated a fraud. Those are the ones now in trouble.
