I think he said but I may imagining this that using a clutch with as much experience as he just slows him down lol

My truck driving instructor clenched his left fist and stuck his right index finger into the hole under his thumb and said double clutching is as easy as screwing your girlfriend; double clutch, one out, double clutch, one in. Needless to say the gal trainee who was in our group complained and was moved to a different trainer.

This one driver wasn't using his drivers side mirror when he was backing in his trailer. He had his head stuck out of the window like a dog riding in the passenger side window. So the instructor stuck his middle finger at the guy and asked "can you see me now" lol. The guy didn't see it. He said to that trainee that it was pointless to teach you sons a biches to drive forward when you can't even drive in reverse. That student ended up dropping out of the class.

That driver was trying to back up without using his mirror, so the instructor got back by the end of the trailer and flipped the guy off. If that driver would have been looking in his mirror like he should have been, he would have seen it!

Now going back to truck driver training school, have any of the other trainees suggested watching the movie Black Dog as a driver educational video? Also, how many students are in your class because they watched the movie Black Dog or Smokey and the Bandit? We watched Black Dog when I was being trained at Schneider.

Are you serious?! My opinion, he shouldn't be Teaching. A Clutch is there for a Reason, just as a Trainer is, to properly Train. Ya Know? Lord have Mercy!!
He might as well have you in an Automatic.

I got a prehire letter from a regional company called KC Transport that starts at 40cpm but no APU frig TV or inverter but home every weekend. Watkin Shepard was interested but it's 32cpm no APU frig TV or inverter but auto transmissions and no riding with a trainer otr. Trans am 30cpm all those things plus directv HBO and nfl Sunday ticket at no charge. Maverick is doing their back ground check on me atm and they have regional flat bed

KC are hard runners, from what I hear. They have absolutely no tolerance for mistakes. Anything under .38/mi you're wasting your time, IMO.

Do you know what kind of company you're looking for? What kind of miles you want? How often you want to be home? Do you mind a camera pointing at you? Do you mind sleep apnea testing, or hair folicle testing? Do you want your hand held, or more independent? What kind of gimmicks do you want in the truck? Do you need a rider/pet policy? Flat, van, reefer?

Like I said, better start doing your homework, as when crunch time comes, and you have to pick your company mosh kosh, drivers tend to go with the recruiter who gave them the last Broadway performance. Be smarter than them, and get it right the first time. Research.

At about 7:30am get a Call from Dispatch. I'm just waking up. I reply "No, I won't accept a load 900 lbs. over my GVW".
Yep, that was the case, and why the driver already there at the PU also wouldn't, couldn't take the load.
Wow. That's all I have to say.
Oh, Sorry....Good Hump Day everyone!
Ha! Said Dispatcher just emailed me. He said "I tried Lisa!"
I replied..."BUT you're wasting your precious time even calling me if you're trying to give me a load that is WAY the Heck over my GVW. It's not Safe, Not Legal and terrible for my Sprinter."
Your TRYING isn't even part of the equation. You can't make a square peg go into a round hole my dear!
