Our driving instructor is a 70yo with 45 years driving and 5 years teaching experience. He's all about up and down shifts and braking down and yelling over this old freightliner lol
@ 70 yrs old I can't see him being a clutch lover tho.....LOL but now hes an expert!

It takes time...ease up on yourself. You'll get it, no prob.
First day driving on the road and my training partner can't hit a gear to save his life but the throw out bearing in the truck is shot so they're letting us finish it off. Even the instructor is having issues but he said that it's good practice in case it happens when on the road and we're trying to delivering a load then get to the shop. I can't manage down shift to 4th to save a baby seal and boy this is tough lol

He claims he's never driven an automatic tractor but ole dude doesn't use his clutch shifting from what I've seen but he says do as I say not as I do
He needs to be the 'example and show you how'....that's what TRAINING means!....so he should be going in to neutral pump to gear. Tell him you need to see him double-clutching and learn the rhythm.

I did my stint and I did much better than my partner but still can't find 4th but managed my other downshifts well. He's showed us how to double clutch but he doesn't seem to remember to do it when he's out on the road. Don't know if that's because he forgets cause of age or just falls back on old habbits

Well y'all I shall be returning after my cruise next week to the world of expedite...seems the truck owner of that car hauler expected me to run illegal, 2 to 3 hours sleep per day, 20 hours per day work...for 3 weeks straight, then refused to pay me. OOIDA, DOT, FMCSA etc will be talking to them soon...

Anyways, I'd much rather be with yall, maybe not getting rich, but working on my terms.

Order for my new Promaster will go in early to mid Oct.

Enjoy! Cruising is the only way to vacation, IMO.

This will be our 10th Cruise.

Those ships leaving from San Juan have a reputation for being rowdy. Whether that's good or bad is up to you...
