your carrier couldn't get you a load outta Joisey?....At Pilot I70 Columbus. Gave up waiting in Jersey and invested $75 in fuel to drop a line in the big pond. After 3 weeks out I'm itching for a good run, also out of money

I just thought I'd throw that out there....because people tell me the same thing all the time when I DH outta Joisey no matter what carrier Ive been with!! Good luck ....No, they advised I head west, which they don't pay for. Not to incur Blizzard's wrath, but, I have found our dispatch concentrates on their core business first and once out of their area you are mostly on your own to find a way back. Just my experience
Dropped a concrete pump trailer at the Meadowlands in NJ on Monday. They had me bobtail home. How's that for empty pay?

That's sad to hear! So sorry. Tell her Lisa n Maggie said Hi!I am going to stay out for 2 weeks alone then start team driving with her. She is buying furniture to replace what we lost in the fire. Insurance co gave us a check to buy "beer" and she is shopping for champagne!! If I didn't hit the road I would have ended up a guest of the state for 25 years.
I'd like to be home most weekends so I think regional would be best for that based on what I've read. Camera I'm actually ok with for the most part because as long as I'm doing what I'm suppose to be doing it shouldn't make a difference. Sleep apnea I'll test and wear the machine if they want and I'm drug and have been for years lol. The holding my hand at first wouldn't be bad but once I got it I think I'd prefer independence. I wanna truck with an APU or EPU frig space for a tv inverter so I guess all gimmicks. No pets and I'm open to dry or reefer. I'd do flat bed if I didn't have to trap stupid tall loads cause I'm not the biggest fan of heightsKC are hard runners, from what I hear. They have absolutely no tolerance for mistakes. Anything under .38/mi you're wasting your time, IMO.
Do you know what kind of company you're looking for? What kind of miles you want? How often you want to be home? Do you mind a camera pointing at you? Do you mind sleep apnea testing, or hair folicle testing? Do you want your hand held, or more independent? What kind of gimmicks do you want in the truck? Do you need a rider/pet policy? Flat, van, reefer?
Like I said, better start doing your homework, as when crunch time comes, and you have to pick your company mosh kosh, drivers tend to go with the recruiter who gave them the last Broadway performance. Be smarter than them, and get it right the first time. Research.
