Perhaps a bigger more national sales force. I know you have said you are looking for sales personnel for areas. How is that going?

It is Ohio after all......hahaha.....
That is in the works and ongoing. Not as quickly as I would like. Finding the right quality people is not an easy task. The sales team does keep growing and we plan to keep going with that.

Guys, business is slow all over...at least we know when ww move we are going to get a good rate because dispatch isn't lowering the bar, and i am just fine with that...
At the end of the yr we will all we talking about the good yrwe had, thats what counts.
I remember and i know OVM does too when we 1st started that we didn't feel the need for the $50 layover pay for the 1st day since waiting was part of the game...and there are still times i don't put in for it...We have become spoiled to some extent here with getting runs every other day in alot of situations that whne we sit 2-3 day we whine that more needs to be done...We also know John isn't just sitting around waiting for the phone to ring...those air miles and time away from his family while the travel can be ok at times, iam sure he would rather be home with his wife and kids...
We all know how this business is...remember the "circle" is done for the yr....there is still money miles to run and "Dolla's" to be made!!

Thanks guys. To be honest up till the end of last week it has been steady and pretty busy. The Canadian holiday on Monday seems like it stalled Friday and the first few days of this week. Yesterday was back to a more normal load count. Overall sales numbers have been good. The overall averages and move times have been good. I would post a chart up here, but probably a little more info than I would want to make public. Seems like some of my posters have been my bigger sitters the last two weeks.

thats exactly right , when its busy you move when its not you learn to be patient. sometimes even the biggest sales force cant get you freight. sometimes its just not there. lots of people talk of moving when it gets slow. thats not the way the game is played. i spoke with someone the other day about slow freight and sitting and tried to get that point across. i have no doubt in my mind that dispatch is looking for freight and have trust in that fact. when you can feel a sense of trust it make sitting in the slow times easier. if you dont then it weighs on your mind and puts strange ideas in your head.
on another note, we are sitting at the walmart in ellewood, ga waiting on a weekend load.

You got it right Scott...the Bills are paid, mama is 90% happy, I got enough cash available to enjoy myself and i also am doin what I love do, bein out here see'n the country and haulin freight!!

I'm with you guys. I can walk again where a few months ago I couldn't. I can drive again where a few months ago I couldn't. I have no complaints.
It's time to appreciate what we have rather than complain about what we think we should have.
