Not to far off here in Kalamazoo, in the low 40's. Wind blowing up to 40 mph according to local news.

Went to bed the only one around last night. Now #2. That sucks, oh well, gonna be here a while. I'll get the genny out. Getting to be a common occurrence with us stepping on each other. Such is life.
Going into wally world to see if there is anything I can't live without.

I know you aren't really complaining, but any time I start getting the grumbles from getting bumped a position or two, I think back to when I was in a system that allowed me to keep my dwell time in a specific area. Problem with that system was any move was then a terrible gamble. Just a move across the street to restock supplies at the walmart was enough to cross into another board area and send me all the way to the bottom of the board. That meant the bottom of two boards--the one I moved to and the one I was on just across the street. There was one truck stop in Grand Rapids that was at an intersection that was the corner of three boards. Just the variations in position updates was enough to bump the vehicle into the neighboring boards without moving the vehicle.

EB, that's why most of us are here. Not a van on every corner. Well there didn't use to be! For the most part there isn't. That's where a sales force could help, expand the freight area. All signs of growing pains. Been there, done that in past life.

When I was at a large carrier, there was a dept dedicated to empty moves and they still got it wrong. End up with 5 or 6 in #1 position and we are all having coffee together making bets. ;) Someday someone will figure it out. Probably won't happen during my lifetime tho! *l*

Meanwhile, the sun is starting to peek, now if Ken would quit blowing all that air out of SD at me, could turn out to be a nice day here. ;)

aren't we all...:D Slow and steady, as Turtle would say...

Or another way to look at it is It's about the pay, not the miles. It amazes me how many drivers will come up to me and ask,"How many miles do you get a week???" I just look at them and say, "It's not about the miles, but it's about the pay" I swear they look at me like I'm from Mars or something..lol..A strange commodity, they are....lol..:D

What's with your loud exhaust?

This is my muffler guy's idea of a quiet turbo, free-flowing muffler....I dont like it, that's for sure...plus it may have something to do with him also removing the catalytic converter that was partially plugged up.The muffler will be changed to a quieter one next pay.And next time I am home. But it does run better! And stronger!MPG should increase, but havent been able to tell, with all this wind.

Lol yeah it's a bit throaty sounding.

I must be getting old, for a muffler to be too loud!! Put new O2 sensors on it, new plugs, cleaned the air filter, changed the oil,had the clock spring in the steering column replaced, which was the cause of the cruise, airbag, and horn not working. It seems that the shop who replaced the steering box spun the steering shaft alot, unwinding the clock spring, causing it to break, and all of that not working..It is actually a vinly band, with a circuit board on it..not a spring...all plastic, for the low price of 81 bucks...lol..

Nevermind the unit that may have already sat for several days with out a load that moves to better area to hopefully get a load, Or took a bad load to a crap area just to cover the load that nobody else would take and moved back to a good area on their own dime!

Yeah just like you did...... Here's an idea. Why not park the spinter and have John give you a job as a salesman..... Only catch is that your paid all on commission .... Gotta sell our services to get paid!

Did that for 15 years. Did very very well at it. Not in the transportation industry, but all outside sales commission only and no draw against commission.

Then did it for myself. Sold the company in 1995 and retired at age 45.

Do you have any other solutions?
