John, shower credits have been corrected. Thank you

Any plans in the works for a rep for east coast. Pa, NJ, MD, VA and NY. From past experience, there is a lot of freight out here.

I have a better chance of getting out of Rapid City then you do....LOL....:p

I know, when I was with Panther, might have to go to NJ being the farthest. Usually just up to York PA or Front Royal Va. But mostly loaded up here in Baltimore. Course that was in the s/t, don't know how their Sprinters were running out of here. Lots of DOD stuff all around the area.

Straights are generally easier out of the East than smaller vehicles.

John, what Jenny meant by being "bumped" was that when we dropped on Monday night at 9PM we were the only unit in the Chicago area. Last night when Jenny talked to Mark in dispatch, he said there was a unit ahead of us. This morning we wake up and find out we are number 3 out of 5 here in Chicago. That's what she meant by being bumped.

We know there are certain things that nobody can control, but its just frustrating that all.

Ok, I misunderstood. Units must have moved themselves. Never sure what the fair answer to that situation ever is.

John, there is no solution to the situation. Bumping other units can be helpful or a hindeance. For example, we can DH to Detroit and be number one and bump the 6 other units sitting there. Great for us, but bad for them.

Whenever I've been there (with the Cat), the eastern third of MA and CT, anywhere in Jersey, eastern PA, Baltimore all the way down to Norfolk, it's been a tough thing just to get some sleep before getting loaded out of there, or getting loaded running up and down the east cost. Granted, not much is NLM, but there's just a snotload of freight coming out of there come through some 3PL or another. Unfortunately, I have no idea which ones. I know I've had a lot of pickups from Bax Global out of Logan (which is a wonderful adventure, highly recommended), and pickups and deliveries to nuclear power plants up through there, and of course quite a bit of it was expedited LTL freight (whatever that oxymoron means) from UPS Freight, which they have a contract with. Lots of imported freight though the ports of Newark and others, too. Not that I know how to get any of it, but it's there. :)

As for bumping units, that's just the way it goes sometimes. The solution, of course, is to just get everyone loaded and be done with it. :D

As for me, I'm not bumping anybody. I'm still OOS sucking on Nyquil. It's fun.

File this under I don't get it.

Fyi I was going to post this before seeing jenny's post.

I am the first to understand we do not ho into why certain decisions are made in dispatch we are playing a guessing game for the most part because there is no way we can be provided all the info that helps dispatch make the decisions they do.

That being said I do not get it. I have had two loads in the past twelve days my last being Monday from Charleston to Chattanooga. Soon as I dropped about 2 am Tuesday morning I headed for Knoxville because it seems to be better than Chat and a mac 19 showed no one in Knoxville. I sit all day Tuesday with no load offers, not unusual and part of the job.

Well This morning I wake up to see another of our family here. I do a 19 and see I am bumped down to number 2. Not wanting to jump to conclusions I wait until talking to the other driver to see if he had moved on his own or dispatch moved him. Turns out they did ask him to move. Now in the name of full discloser he had sat in Blacksburg (normally a good spot) since Thursday. I just do not understand why they would choose to move a driver on top of someone else when arguably Blacksburg in my experience is a better spot than Knoxville, at the very least on par with. It adds to the chance I will be paid another layover day and possibly get a paid move both cutting into company profits.

As I said we are not armed with all the facts so this could simply be useless blabbering on my part. We could also both end up with loads today which would enforce how useless this post is. That being said.

I just don't get it.

Ok I feel better now. :)

I picked up a lot at Estes and Central.

When I first signed on with Load 1 and got a load home for the first time, I let Jeremy know of a load out of Winchester. Usually multiple drops of newspaper inserts. When I went hack in service, I got that load. 2 drops and paid well.

Are you getting a good buzz off the Nyquil? Hope you feel better soon.

I'm not all that sick, really, just nagging. The rain in Pittsburgh isn't helping. Felt pretty good yesterday, good enough to go grab a Bionic, and new pair of casual shoes, and a new pair of steel-toed, waterproof, electrical hazard proof, chemical proof, Thinsulated mama slama jama boots that weigh a pound and a half each.

'Cause Turtle's toes gotta stay warm and toasty and dry. Otherwise he's sucking on Nyquil and can't drive. :D
