Bed is real comfortable..especially since i just put the electric heated matteress pad on..nice and comfy warm...shower...welll i can always park the van on a hill open the back doors a bit , ue 3 bottles of Aquafina bottled water and a bar of soap and stand bent over in the back of the van.....and let the water run out the open doors off the floor......thank god for T/A and Ultra 1....wait there are no TA's / Petro's close, well if i get stuck here for the weekend I might have to break down and either pay for a shower at the J back a few miles or get a hotel room...that might happen it is windy and cold here...and i am a sissy when it comes to the cold..... and I know it is only going to get worse too....

Ok, I am "driving" down to the Davenport Iowa are,, the thinking being that the chance of getting a load later this evening or tomorrow will be better.....
Now since it is an "un-paid" empty move, In made the decision on my own, and the miles are not a DH to get freight....I won't be adding them to my DH miles or LH miles for the month.....

hey chef you have inspired me i am going to drive back forth from detroit to chicago on my dime until i get aload. thus eliminating all deadhead.

Then how do you account for those miles?? I consider all the miles from the time I drop a load till the next load is in my truck deadhead miles.
Chef and I have the same accounting system....."we don't account" for them..we don't need too....they just "disappear" *LOL*

Hey - maybe if you did that enough, it would be somehow possible to actually have negative deadhead ?
How would that work ? ..... maybe ya count it against your loaded miles driven, reducing them ..... and jacking up the per mile rate ?
