It's snowing here in western South Dakota..the first one is always pretty isn't it? :)

The cats are all back in the house after their adventure out in the snow...now about half of them are sitting on the back of the couch watching the snow come down.

Sittin at home after gettin new tires, alignment , oil change, and other "stuff: done to the van...need to run out and get a new "eletric blanket" and then decide if I should stay in toledo or head up to Taylor....my problem is deciding if I go up to Taylor is it a "un-paid" empty move, a DH, or just a nice scenic drive up I-75......would want to put those miles in the wrong column and add to the confuses of whats what ....:D

Decisions, decisions...I guess if I go to Taylor I could just consider it a drive to the office to turn in paper work and not Related to any type of miles for the business...but then if i sit there and get a run, what do i do, how to I account for those miles...wait!! I could take my car instead of the van...but what if i get a run....i am soo confused....

and how much did Laredo to home cost ya? eh? *LOL* Mr money bags....
1,450 dollars for 4 trips home this year. The Laredo to Ca fiasco costed me 250 dollars. But I wanted to see my cat and be home for a week. California might suck politically, but when you are in 70 degree sunny weather while it is 30 and below in other parts of the country, it truly is like being in another world. It is like being in a liberal wonder land with Nanci Peloci the wicked witch of the west in charge of it all.

and you thought no one would remember eh? *LOL*

I don't track my money home that close..I just go...from where and when I want....I went from Temple GA to home 1700 miles this summer....had enough sweating....I don't care about money...when I get it in my mind...

I am like scruge, I know where every dime i've earned has been spent. I keep meticulous mental records of every wasted dollar on the road; that's why most of the useful information that used to be in me head is gone. lol. Yeah, I am the same way, I sit for 4 days and just get it in my head to go home. Sure I could have saved some money by not going home, but sanity is far more important than bags full of coin.

moving from e75 to e77..hope that 2 miles doesn't break the bank....;)
That's exactly what we need; a picture of Chef breaking his daughters piggy bank to get the money to deadhead from Toledo to the yard in Taylor. I'm gonna panhandle my way back home for Christmas. Or maybe I can figure out how to attach myself to a freight train and get home for free this time.

Over the years I think I've shared a meal with almost every company out there...*l*

Something about cooking in a parking lot attracts more than just flies...:)

anyone wanna rescue those four lil black *******s that are looking in my front door watching my every move? There were about 10 out there this morning...and I can't afford to get them all fixed! Hey I know...I'll make it a package deal...here's a jar of home made pickles and the kitty cat is free...*LOLOL*

New guys!?!? LOL, its good to know that 3 yrs is still a new guy and not and oldertimer....:D

Empty moves are part of the game, at least for me,,,when I was at bolt, i gave them 36 hrs to get me loaded and if they didn;t I moved on my own dime and i did that at least once a week. When I went out of service and was at home, and went back in service, no matter what day of the week, the chances were that I wasn't going to get loaded out of Toledo and I would run empty to chicago....and i did that a few times a month, and again that was on my dime, I learn early on with bolt that if I took their $.10 a mile for a paid move, I lost my dwell time...so when i chose to move on my own, I did so and if there was my chance a CV where I moved to, if I had more dwell time, I moved in ahead of that unit....but for the most part i would move where there were no units from Bolt...

Now with Load 1, 1st their empty move pay is $.50 per mile. 2nd, there aren't that many CV/Sprinter here so chances are you are going to move to a place they already have units sitting...it can happen if you are moving to an area they have their own acccounts, but its not happened tp me yet....

So with $.50 a mile for a paid empty move, as OVM said thats what some people are getting paid less the FSC....it really doesn't cost the driver to move...:D
