Why?? Its the law..see we adults can not agree what to do...so let the kids do what there supposed to be doing... learning... leave religion out of it..

I have a solution to the ongoing prayer debate. We should not only allow, but insist on prayer in schools. Zen Buddhist prayer.
They seem like a pretty peaceful bunch - they keep the body count pretty low, don't they?
I can't imagine why a Christian parent would object to their kid being exposed to the teachings of the Buddha day after day after day after day after day after day after day after day after day. It's not like it would permeate his thinking or anything.
Yeah ... it's not like conservatives have ever done any of that with regard to abortion ...If a conservative doesn't believe in (insert whatever it is, in this case prayer) he just doesn't participate. If a liberal doesn't believe in (insert whatever it is, in this case prayer) he makes a big to do about it and yells for laws to ban it.
Burma jails 25 Buddhists for mob killings of 36 Muslims in Meikhtila
"Jail terms, among first for Buddhists in recent sectarian violence, follows attack on school that killed 32 and torching of mosques"

You missed my point completely.
Seems like a simple solution. No prayers or anything religious in public schools. Parents can pay a private school and get reimbursed for what they would send to a public one.
Umm....wonder what would happen to public schools?
