Someone just got a...........
As much as I love that sticker and message, I would never put it on a work vehicle for fear I might offend a customer.
Bingo! Especially when you're picking up or delivering automotive freight, where the smarmy union members just luuuuuv Obama.
Politics and religion - the two subjects that aren't supposed to be discussed in polite society, and for good reason.
That type of sticker on a car, van, truck or whatever is practically an open invitation for your vehicle to get vandalized in certain parts of the country -especially in an election year.
In my opinion all those stickers should be reserved for your personal vehicle...because that doesn't look professional...
Of course this is just my opinion.
Chefdennis, i really enjoyed your posts, which are full of good information about this industry, thank you very much for that.
On the matter about any of the stickers(being political, religious, hippie, etc...) I consider that they are not professional for a truck "FOR HIRE" or leased to a carrier...
Of course this is my opinion only
Sorry Dennis..I have to go with AmPack....they are IMO of course..unprofessional....your vehicle represents Load 1...NOT you...and that you could be banned from any UAW plant would cast a pale light on Load 1...and could ultimately hurt MY business....I'll remind you of something YOU and Joe always say in here...you are quite welcome to execise your freedoms of expression and speech as long as they don't interfere with mine...
Not that I want to weigh in, but I feel I should. I am of the opinion that everything we do represents the carrier that we work with or for. The business is what we are here for, first and foremost. I personally have a great GW Bush shirt in the Obama color palette that says "How is that hopey changey stuff working out for you?". I without a doubt am a conservative. But I would not wear that T-shirt into the office even though it is my business.
I strongly believe that politics and religion are two items that should stay out of the workplace.
Things like this happen all the time - over the years, quote a few customers have told me that something seemingly trivial like this influences their decision to call Carrier A instead of Carrier B when all other factors are equal. Best to avoid the things that people go to war over - politics, religion and college football.
The phrase "LEASED TO" comes to mind. The carrier leases the vehicle, not the owner's opinions, political or otherwise.
I understand Chef it's your truck and we aren't going to change your mind, but even though it is your truck it is leased to Load 1 and you are projecting an image of the company, while nothing will probably happen, if Load 1 loses one load is it worth it?
Personally, I love the sticker and the message, but not everyone has our views.
And out of respect for John and HIS opinion and the fact that I am leased to his company, I'll not put the sticker on the van...
My "Smack Down" comment was made because of the following posts by, dare I say, rational thinking persons commenting on your decision to proudly display a bumper sticker. Along with your defiant attitude towards those that questioned your decision.
However, what I found funny, is how your attitude changed after Mr. Elliott gave his opinion on your plans of placing said bumper sticker on your vehicle. Ouch!, this had to hurt the ole ego typing the following into your computer.

Sounds like he did the right thing to me.
but thanks for pointing out the posts since apparently you feel no one but yourself can read them.
Thank you for the compliment
You are quite welcome. Gotta give credit, where credit is do.
He absolutely did do the right thing. Unfortunately it took half the responses and Mr. Elliott to convince him of that. That was my point.
It seems that your point was to try to make someone look bad. Then again that appears to be your main goal on here at most times.
Here we go again, I feel like we are on a merry go round
Round and round we go where it stops nobody knows
I don't put stickers on my vehicles because of potential vandalism and the possibility of not being able to bring justice to the vandal(s). I also see the point and agree that doing so on a work vehicle with company logos could be bad for business at times.

Anytime.
No actually it only took John Elliott to suggest it may not be the best idea, that was why Dennis said it was John's opinion that made him decide not to do it.
