The right?

Really they will?

I think the right is the same as the left, concerned with no one but themselves.

In the past 30 years, they have had ample opportunities to fix some of the issues stifling our freedoms but failed to do so. They could have removed judges, they could have repealed laws and they could have enforced the constitution but what did they do? NOTHING.

Greg... when I say right, I mean TRUE conservatives and libertarians... not Republicans or Christian conservatives. Unfortunately, the former group has not been in power since Coolidge.

OK I agree 100% but who here is a true conservative?

Brisco... that's the big difference between the right and the left. The right will fight for YOUR freedom of speech. The left only believes in THEIR freedom of speech, and those they agree with.
The late comic Richard Jeni did a bit that I found on youtube a while back in which he discussed the differences between the left and right.

He said on 9/12 he decided, "That's it! I'm becoming a hardcore, right-wing Republican #@#@%*!!" Then he went over the list of what he found there and a list of hypocrisies, ending with "pro-death-penalty, anti-abortion hypocrites!" while the crowd howled.

So he says, "So I went back over to the left. These are the tolerant people, tolerant of everybody else's views...until you say something that ****es them off. That's when they chain your @$$ to the back of a Toyota Prius and drag your carcass to the Berkeley campus and drop you off in front of the Fidel Castro Center for Continuing Studies On Why America Sucks." He fingered them as "tuna loving, salmon-eating hypocrites."

It's worth finding on youtube, and there's a lot of truth inside.

Not to mention, look who have us the PATRIOT ACT, Medicare Part D, the Gestapo in the airports, etc. with friends like these, who needs Demon-crats?

That's why I like libertarians. Live and let live; but don't screw up and expect me to save you. Chances are, I would anyways. It's called charity.

In my opinion all those stickers should be reserved for your personal vehicle...because that doesn't look professional...

Of course this is just my opinion.

Since i own my own truck, and the title has my name on it, i think that means it belongs to me..meaning, its my personal vehicle...and that is not an opinion, its a fact...I own it "personally.."

I'm pretty sure a state issued title would hold up as fact even in a Holder injustice department and a Kagan kangaroo court.

Chefdennis, i really enjoyed your posts, which are full of good information about this industry, thank you very much for that.
On the matter about any of the stickers(being political, religious, hippie:D, etc...:D) I consider that they are not professional for a truck "FOR HIRE" or leased to a carrier...
Of course this is my opinion only:)

Sorry Dennis..I have to go with AmPack....they are IMO of course..unprofessional....your vehicle represents Load 1...NOT you...and that you could be banned from any UAW plant would cast a pale light on Load 1...and could ultimately hurt MY business....I'll remind you of something YOU and Joe always say in here...you are quite welcome to execise your freedoms of expression and speech as long as they don't interfere with mine...

Not that I want to weigh in, but I feel I should. I am of the opinion that everything we do represents the carrier that we work with or for. The business is what we are here for, first and foremost. I personally have a great GW Bush shirt in the Obama color palette that says "How is that hopey changey stuff working out for you?". I without a doubt am a conservative. But I would not wear that T-shirt into the office even though it is my business.

I strongly believe that politics and religion are two items that should stay out of the workplace.

No dude, its a fact, my name is on the title, i own it personally, not opinion dude, fact...:D
The problem is that customers don't see the title - all they see is LOAD 1 and the message stickers. Most of the time the guys in the warehouse and on the dock don't control carrier selection. But in some cases they do - and when that individual is sitting at his desk about to reach for the phone and call an expediter he'll have 2 or 3 companies he's used that all give him good service and good rates. He's looking at the magnets on his filing cabinet trying to decide which number to call, and he's not in a very good mood anyway because he's having to expedite something. The last visual impression he had of your carrier was your company logo and the stickers on the back of your truck as it pulled out of the dock. He doesn't remember that you were early on that last delivery and what a nice guy you were. He's a card-carrying member of the UAW and he voted FOR Obama - your company loses the business.

Things like this happen all the time - over the years, quote a few customers have told me that something seemingly trivial like this influences their decision to call Carrier A instead of Carrier B when all other factors are equal. Best to avoid the things that people go to war over - politics, religion and college football.

The phrase "LEASED TO" comes to mind. The carrier leases the vehicle, not the owner's opinions, political or otherwise.
