Well, I guess this is the way it is. I get a load to Birmingham, Al from Middlefield, Ohio for 745 miles on Tuesday. It's looking like it will be a good week. On the way down to Alabama I get a call from a my brother telling me about a death in the family and I needed to get home. So I drop the load off on Tuesday morning, beat feat up to my grandfathers house in Tennessee, and here I am after driving my grandparents up to Ohio and my van is still in Tennessee. Not that any of that matters. It's just been a bummer of a week feeling down about the loss of a family member and everything else that has been going on. It really sucks when you get the call out on the road because there really is nothing you can do but provide moral support over the phone until you get home. Well it's off to sleep for the night and calling hours tomorrow.:( Be safe out there

EB, when i was in Lebanon IN yesterday, i sat there for 43 hours and after talking to load planning, I moved the 124 miles to Gary IN ans was dispatched within an hour of getting there....something to consider....
Thanks for the thoughts. But I was spending my time deadheading to non-paying drying runs. So technically I was on loads. The office did try to set things straight, but that load to JFK just consumed my "bonus" with the bridge tolls. I got in six hours early hoping to get in line for one more load this week, but I wasn't allowed to deliver due to paperwork. Four hours later I was allowed to deliver with exactly the paperwork I showed up with four hours earlier. But now it was prime rushhour. Another three hours to escape new york.

The Secaucus, NJ Walmart is being expanded into a super, supercenter. Hope they don't kickout the trucks now that it is presentable real estate. I like the trail on the west side of the turnpike.
